Stop guessing if your marketing is working. Use this simple framework instead.

Most landscape company owners see marketing as an expense because they don't know how to measure the return. They look at "likes" and "impressions" and wonder how that pays the bills.

Here is the exact 4-step framework we use to calculate true Marketing ROI for our clients:

1. Define the Goal: Are you trying to increase maintenance contracts, or book more high-end design/build projects? You can't measure what you haven't defined.

2. Track the Source: Use call tracking numbers and dedicated landing pages. If you don't know where a lead came from, you can't attribute the revenue.

3. Calculate Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC): Total Marketing Spend / Number of New Customers = CAC. If you spend $5,000 and get 10 customers, your CAC is $500.

4. Measure Lifetime Value (LTV): How much revenue will that customer generate over their lifetime with you? If a maintenance contract is worth $3,000/year and they stay for 5 years, the LTV is $15,000.

If your LTV is significantly higher than your CAC, your marketing isn't an expense. 𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘦.
