Most service businesses don’t have a marketing problem.
They have a sequencing problem.

It’s easy to default to posting more…
because it feels like progress.

But when things are out of order, even consistent effort
won’t translate into growth.

10/04/2026

Posting more won’t fix broken marketing.

If your strategy feels reactive, it’s because there’s no backbone, no clear goals, defined offers, or mapped demand generation. Sustainable growth comes from systems your team can execute, not random tactics or trendy funnels.

Are you building campaigns, or building a system?

Steve and I have the opportunity to jointly serve clients and that kind of trust is something I don’t take lightly.

Thank you, Steve, for your partnership and confidence in the work I do.

Before I was a fractional CMO…
I was a founder.

12 years.
Two companies.
Real payroll. Real pressure.

I didn’t learn marketing from theory.

I learned it from building something that had to generate demand every single month.

And eventually… selling.

Here’s what actually drives growth:

• Clear positioning
• Consistent demand
• Smart reinvestment

Not chasing every new trend.

If you want marketing that actually scales, not just “more marketing,” let’s talk.

Most business owners struggle to answer one simple question:

“What do you do?”

My answer used to sound like a list of tactics.

SEO.
Google Ads.
Funnels.
Email.
Local visibility.
Marketing strategy.

All accurate.
None concise.

The reason is simple:

When you don’t sell a cookie-cutter service, your value doesn’t live in a tactic.

It lives in the system.

I design marketing systems for service businesses — the kind that answer questions like:

• What channel should actually drive leads
• Where marketing budget should go
• How SEO, ads, and email work together
• What should be prioritized first

And before any of that…

You have to answer the most important positioning question in marketing:

Why should someone choose you?

If that isn’t clear, tactics won’t fix the problem.

Curious — what’s the one sentence you use when someone asks what you do?

Four months ago, this didn’t exist.

No brand.
No website.
No webinar.
No plan to build any of it.

Just a question someone asked me at the end of a six-hour strategy sprint.

“What if we built something together?”

The person asking was Amber Powers, a fractional COO I had just spent the day working with.

She and two other fractional leaders had already been kicking around an idea: bringing together a small group of experienced operators who could help growing companies tackle the kinds of decisions that usually require a full leadership team.

I was intrigued.

So I said yes to the next conversation.

And then things moved fast.

In less than four months we:

✨ Designed a brand and logo
✨ Built and launched a website
✨ Aligned how we work together
✨ Created a webinar concept
✨ Brought in a professional moderator
✨ Promoted it
✨ And hosted our first live Zoom event

Our team now includes leaders in operations, HR, technology, finance, and marketing:

Amber Powers
Juli Prizant
Dean Gunia
Annette Kastner
…and me.

All running our own practices.
All collaborating.

What’s been most interesting isn’t just the speed.

It’s what happens when marketing, operations, hiring, finances, and technology decisions get discussed together — before big growth moves are made.

Most small businesses never get access to that kind of leadership alignment.

Four months ago this was just an idea.

Now it’s a team, a brand, and our first event in the books.

And we’re just getting started. 🚀

Spent Friday with Theresa Valade and her team at Success Trek for a 6-Hour Sprint — and it’s always impressive to watch a seasoned founder sharpen an already strong business.

Theresa has built a mature, respected firm that partners with executive teams to diagnose organizational friction and implement the structure needed to restore performance.

What we focused on wasn’t “more marketing.”

It was precision.

In six hours, we:
• Defined her primary buyer and hiring trigger moment
• Repositioned messaging from broad consultant to go-to partner for a specific organizational inflection point
• Rewrote website language to reflect executive-level structural intervention
• Tightened workshop outreach strategy
• And more

When an experienced founder is willing to pause, refine, and sharpen positioning — that’s leadership.

Theresa, thank you for the trust and the focused collaboration.

Is fractional leadership actually worth the hype?

More companies are choosing part-time executives instead of full-time overhead.

Not because it’s trendy.
Because it works.

When you’re scaling, in transition, or need senior strategy without a permanent C-suite salary, fractional leadership can be the smartest growth move in the room.

Next Wednesday, the W.Edge Collective is having a real conversation about:

• When fractional makes sense
• When it doesn’t
• What results actually look like
• And how to avoid “fractional in title only”

CFO. CIO. COO. CHRO. CMO.
In one room.

Owner-led means every decision runs through you.
So your marketing can’t be chaotic, trendy, or built for someone else’s bandwidth.

You don’t need another “10-step funnel.”
You need a clear plan, the right priorities, and a system that actually fits how you operate.

Growth should support your vision — not hijack your calendar.

If you’re ready for marketing that feels focused, grounded, and aligned with revenue, let’s talk.
