Now, for your V-Day marketing tip:
➡️ DON'T use the hashtag [ValentinesDay] -- it's banned!

What does a banned hashtag mean?!

Due to an increase of spammers, bots and fake accounts online, IG had to fight back by banning certain hashtags heavily used by spammers. When a hashtag is banned, the post doesn't show up on people's feeds or the Explore (public) page. Also, it hurts your engagement, because it's basically a temporary "flag" on your account, saying you might be a spammer.

Banned hashtags can change DAILY, which means you need to be spending extra time researching your hashtags BEFORE you post them.

Let's talk social media planning ✨ I've chatted with SO many people who work in marketing and social media, and it seems like everyone has such different processes for creating content, developing copy & media, and determining when/where to schedule their posts.

I'm SUCH a visual planner, that MY process is this:

☕ print out a blank calendar (I know -- still using actual paper 🤣)
☕ brainstorm what I want my month to look like (themes, topics, trends, holidays, special days, post frequency, etc.)
☕ once I have my monthly structure and outline laid out, I put it all into a special spreadsheet, so I can visually see my media, next to my copy, next to my link, etc.
☕ make a coffee, drink said coffee, and stare at the content for awhile.
☕ once everything looks nice and complete, I send this document over to my clients to preview and approve.
☕ now that the content is approved, I hop into Later.com and schedule everything out in advance, so I can capitalize on the best days of the week and times of day for each client specifically. (some perform better in the mornings, some in the evenings!)

My process might seem long to others, but I really feel that going these extra steps helps me plan more robust and thought out content for my clients, as well as providing them a sneak-peak of their social media in an organized and visual format.
