When I was in college, our newsroom had a sign that said content is king. As a designer, I secretly kind of hated it for most of my time there.

As we become more overwhelmed by media and can create new content at lightning speed, even with a simple AI prompt I believe in that idea more than ever. And design was never really in opposition to it- it is the strong and sturdy support when done with intentionality.

A year ago I worked with their founder and leader Kelly to develop illustrations for her blog. The style worked so well we took it through the entire site to show a variety of walks of life while using one consistent style.
