Something hit me today while reviewing a home service company’s marketing.
For years, we’ve all been obsessed with the same question:
“Where did the lead come from?”
Google? Facebook? SEO? Referral?
But I think that’s becoming the wrong question.
The real question is:
“What made them trust you enough to call?”
Because customers aren’t making decisions from a single touchpoint anymore.
They’re piecing you together in real time.
They see your reviews…
then your truck on the road…
then your page…
then your website…
then your Google profile…
maybe they ask a friend…
and then they call.
Attribution is getting harder to track.
But trust is getting easier to recognize.
And the companies that win the next decade of marketing won’t be the ones chasing perfect attribution…
They’ll be the ones building trust at every single touchpoint.
