Helpful ID Tip:
Today we learn how to tell the difference between a Downy Woodpecker and a Hairy Woodpecker using the easiest method there is, the suet feeder method.

Last week I took a quick trip to the local landfill in search of some rare gulls. I was able see the Glaucous Gull but missed the Iceland Gull. On Saturday I saw a report of a Thayer's Gull, although I don't know if I'd have even known if I saw one.

Today, in the first ever joint venture field trip between CAOS and Early Bird Nature Tours w/ Larry Lewis we went to Lititz., Pa. in search of the first year, male Bullock's Oriole.
And Thanks to the help of Bruce it was actually the easiest Life Bird I've had in some time. :)
