Images and text by Deanna Dikeman Deanna Dikeman has been an artist since 1985. She resides in Kansas City and Columbia, Missouri. Her first body of work was a study of the suburban landscape in Johnson County, Kansas. She photographed her parents and other family in Iowa and Nebraska.

CoMo200 events continue with this radio series! You DO know that Columbia is celebrating its 200th anniversary in 2021, right? And that every single person is included in our celebrations and planning. What? You didn't get to get involved YET?! Here's your chance. The Task Force to plan the celebration is meeting tonight - July 25 at 5:30 p.m. in the Walton Building on Providence Road. The task force typically meets for an hour and you do NOT have to be a member to come and listen and even chime in. I'll be there. At our house, we have a saying, if you do not get involved in the decision making, you do not get to be involved in the complaining. Are you in?

CoMO200 and KBIA will collaborate on eight to 10 episodes featuring conversations with long-time Columbia residents.

Can't wait! Celebrate noon-2 p.m. Nov. 11, 2018. This event will mark the 1818 settlement of Smithton, the precursor to Columbia, Missouri. This outdoor event will include food trucks and speakers including a reenactor. Meet at the RE/MAX parking lot on Broadway, near where Smithton once was!

History Friends - Sunday November 11th is a celebration of the founding of Smithton, which was the little town that in 1821 changed it's name to Columbia! The event will kick off a series of events over the next 3 years leading up to Columbia's Bicentennial in 2021.
Smithton was located roughly where the water tower is now on Walnut so the celebration will be held in the parking lot just across the street. See you there!

Anyone interested in re-starting CoMoFreelanceForum? I'm willing to post on FB about our group about a once a month meeting if anyone else wants to restart the group. I'm hoping for a group of people willing to meet to share and network about work-related ideas on time management, marketing for clients, and other related freelance topics.
