POV: I started adding this to my carousels and saw views increase.

Recently, some of the best-performing content we’ve been creating for clients has simply been everyday B-roll clips incorporated into carousel posts.

Adding video to some of your carousel slides, especially slide 1, 2, or 3, can increase views and time spent on your carousel.

And the best part?

B-roll is all you need to mix in with your static images.

It doesn’t have to be overly polished either.

🪴 Showing products? Film a quick clip holding it or picking it up.

🔨 Showing a completed service? Film part of the process or behind-the-scenes moments.

🎉 Posting a group photo from an event? Add a wide shot video clip for context.

Individually, clips like this might seem random or useless.

But paired with static images, it starts to feel more like a story.

✨ Capture first. Create second.

Want more easy B-roll ideas you can use for Reels and carousels? Comment 🐝 and I’ll send you more.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers! I’m so proud to be Mom to Jack and Emma. It’s an indescribable feeling to be mom to two adult children. It’s really cool to see them grow and mature and live their lives.

And of course I want to say special thanks to my own mom who has taught me so much about resilience and being brave. ♥️

I can remember in 2022 wishing I could attend this social media conference in California. How cool it would be to learn in person from experts in my industry.

Online research, coaching programs, and real-world client experience are all necessary… but 2.5 days of sessions on Instagram, LinkedIn, email marketing, messaging, and more felt like a dream at the time.

My business was still growing. I had maybe one or two contractors, and the cost felt out of reach.

So I started small.

I bought a virtual ticket, and after just a few sessions, I was hooked. I knew the investment was worth it. Not just for me, but for the clients I was serving and the ones I hoped to work with.

Fast forward to 2026, and I just wrapped my third in person 🎉

My husband Tim accompanied me this year, so he can start learning more about the business and be more supportive operationally. He had a blast!

And a full circle moment. One of this year’s keynote speakers, , was actually a mentor of mine during one of my growth seasons.

The fact that I get to spend time with family while I’m here is a major bonus 🤍

Proud of younger me for starting where I could, and continuing to invest in myself, my business, and ultimately, my clients.

If you’re a fellow SMM and wishing you could go, don’t give up! Start with making a plan. DM me too. I’m happy to answer any questions 🐝

Engagement doesn’t happen by accident.

It’s being intentional with your interactions and being social.

One of the most underrated (and effective) engagement tools? Stories.

Instagram stories are prime real estate because they sit at the top of the feed and create urgency. When content disappears after 24 hours, people are more likely to tap, watch, and interact. Plus, no captions to read!

A few simple ways to use Stories more strategically:
📷Show behind the scenes and every day life
✨Add polls, questions, or quizzes to invite interaction
⏰ Promote offers, giveaways, or reminders
📆 Use countdowns for events, launches, or announcements

Stories aren’t just filler content. They are the best conversation starters.

If you want more practical ways to boost engagement (without overthinking it), I break it all down in my blog:

POV: you realize you don’t have to figure this out on your own 🤍

Loved bringing together such a fantastic group of small business owners for coffee, conversation, and connection at ☕️

It’s easy to feel alone when you’re using social media for your business. You start questioning everything:

• how you (or your product/service) looks
• does anyone even care?
• who’s going to see this?
• what do I even say?

That’s why I started the Instagram Coffee Meetup!

Sharing ideas, talking through challenges, and realizing you’re not the only one navigating all this, is what makes us stronger and smarter business owners.

Thank you to everyone who came and showed up so openly 🤍

Want to come to the next coffee meetup? 🐝

I’m putting together a list for future events. Comment below or send me a DM and I’ll add you!

I’ve always loved reading...but these days, I mostly reach for fiction. Mostly romances. 😍 It’s how I decompress, unplug, and escape from the day-to-day.

Lately, Emma and I have been making it a thing. We visit bookstores like Storyline Bookshop, grabbing a coffee, and picking out books together. We call it our "new happy hour" 🤍

Meanwhile… I have stacks of business and marketing books I’ve started (and not always finished 😅). I love collecting them though! Anyone else?

Fun fact: my first two jobs were in libraries. First as a page (book shelver) at Lane Public Library in my hometown of Oxford, Ohio, and then at Miami University’s King Library entering new books into the system.

What are you reading now? And who has read all of the series???

This is what it looks like when women in business show up for each other 🤍

Such an engaging luncheon at with the Women’s Business Network, bringing together women business owners at different stages to share their experiences.

As women in business, we pivot, collaborate, and lean on our networks throughout our careers, and it’s a powerful reminder that you’re not alone navigating it all.

Honored to be part of the conversation alongside these incredible women:

🦌 Jeri Lucco
🐝 Jackie Murphy
💍 Theresa Capace

Beautifully moderated by the funny and endearing

It’s so exciting every time I am with this network of women. Growth doesn’t happen in isolation! It happens through connection, conversation, and community.

Thank you to for inviting me in to share “More Than Just Listings: Strategic Social Media for Realtors” earlier this month! 🐝

I love teaching how to be social on social media and helping shift mindsets around using your time more strategically.

We talked about:
• what to post beyond listings
• how engagement builds recognition and referrals
• how to stay consistent without it taking over your day

And a big thank you to for the connection ♥️

A great reminder that relationships and supporting one another really do lead to opportunities.

If you’re a team or business interested in something similar, I’d love to connect.

I’m team Real Life > Perfect Content.

Real life builds connection. It’s relatable to your followers.

Stop overthinking. Start capturing.

Your best content already exists inside your workday. You’re just not pressing record.

📸 Content ideas show up as:
• client calls or prep
• behind-the-scenes moments
• works in progress
• coffee before a long day
• packing up after a win
• notes, screens, sketches, tools
• the quiet moments between tasks

Consistency beats polish.

Save this as your reminder: you don’t need more ideas. Build the habit of capturing what’s already happening. 🐝

SAVE THIS! If your Instagram feed feels chaotic or you keep missing posts from people you actually care about, this is one small change that makes a BIG difference 👀

By tapping the Instagram logo at the top of your feed and selecting Following, you’ll see posts in chronological order—from accounts you already follow.

This is one of my favorite ways to:
🐝 Stay connected to my community
🐝 Catch client posts you don’t want to miss
🐝 Be more intentional with engagement

NOTE: You will need to select this each time you want to change your feed view.

Save this so you can come back to it later—and try it the next time your feed feels overwhelming.
