Normally, I do not voice many political opinions here, but this is important to me and as it is a day of "independence," I feel this is important to share.

Today I do not celebrate July 4th. It has never been a holiday I really care for and to be honest, living in Taiwan, I forget a lot about it.

Haley Helps is an advocate, ally, and a service provider that is inclusive and supports minorities. Fourth of July is supposed to be about freedom, but looking around...đź‘€

I don't see anything free worth celebrating.

Minorities, women, and really anything/anyone that doesn't align with the white right are still being targeted left and right. That includes groups I identify with. We are coming up with a major political choice for the US and I don't see any reason we should take today and celebrate. There needs to be more education and discussion around what to do in November.

Today, while you are lounging by the pool and enjoying your supposed "freedoms," try supporting a minority-owned business, sharing them on social media, reading books, and learning about all histories, including Black and Native American history.

I will leave you with this quote from Ibram X. Kendi “We should be celebrating our disobedience, turbulence, insolence, and discontent about inequities and injustices in all forms.” His point is that freedom is a work in progress for many groups of people, and today is no different.

Telling a story with your content can be difficult as a service provider. We want to be ethical in our approach, and want to make sure that we are providing content and stories that are human, relatable, but don't provide TOO much information.

This is where I come in.

Writing blogs, repurposing old content, and focusing on SEO is a great strategy for being human, personable, and approachable, without giving your clients' away and pawning them off on the highest bidder. As service providers, we want to help people, and this "people-first" approach is valuable!

Our tips today are going to focus on how your voice transfers into email marketing. Email marketing is one of the BEST forms of marketing campaigns out there.

Almost everyone has an email address, and a great number of those people check their emails routinely. Email campaigns give you the unique leverage your business may need to provide educational, informational, and entertaining content that may not otherwise go well on social media platforms or your blog.

Email marketing campaigns are also a great place to put information about any sales or discounts you're offering!

For me, here in Taiwan, Pride takes place in October, but I also still celebrate with the rest of you in June too!

Pride is really important here in Taiwan, as we were the first Asian country to legalize gay marriage in 2019. Every October we have a large parade in Taipei that coincides with Halloween.

This is the last month of quarter 2! The first six months of 2024 flew by for me - did they zip right past you, too? I was able to get my website back up and my IG messaging nailed down.

Don't let Quarter 3 pass you by, take a few moments and set some attainable goals for yourself, and your business. Don't know where to start? Check out these ideas

Some good goals for the next quarter could include:
Refreshing your content
Reword your messaging
Keying up your SEO
Starting or rewriting those SOPs
Simply bringing a new coat of paint to the business you've built

The person behind the business. Humans are so complex and we have so many parts to us, I wanted to share what makes me ... well ME.
