Most contractors set up their Google Business Profile once and never touch it again.

A profile with no new photos in 12 to 14 months does not read as stable. It reads as dormant. That distinction matters when a homeowner is looking at two listings side by side on a Saturday morning and deciding who to call.

The listing that has recent job photos, filled-out services, and answered questions wins that comparison. The one that looks like it was last updated in 2022 does not, even if the contractor behind it is booked three months out.

The fix: photo from the job site, uploaded within 48 hours of completion. That is the whole system.

More leads is not always the fix. Sometimes the site is pulling in the wrong people.

When a contractor is flooded with price-shoppers, the instinct is to generate more volume. Run more ads. Post more. Get in front of more eyes.

But the site itself shapes who reaches out.

A page with no clear service scope, no defined service area, and no framing around what the work actually costs will attract anyone. That includes a lot of people who were never going to hire you.
