The goal is to establish how your product/service can solve the prospects existing problems. The acronym SPIN stands for:

👉Situation
👉Problem
👉Implication
👉Need payoff

Situation questions allow you to develop an understanding of each prospect's situation. This can involve their future plans, processes, pain points, etc. The specific questions you ask will depend on the product/service you have on offer.

Problem questions are designed to make the prospect cognizant of the fact that they have a problem that needs to be solved. You will be able to highlight these problems in order to move the sale forward.

Implication questions are meant to bring attention to the potential problems that could arise if the problem questions are not quickly addressed.

Now that you have established the problem they need to solve through conversation, you should lead the prospect towards establishing their need for your solution on their own. The need payoff questions should guide your prospect
towards explaining the benefit of your solution in their own words.
