Serger Saga: Air Threading Edition

Y’all… when I tell you this one tested my patience… 😅

This serger came in with air threading issues, and I was dead set convinced the inlet pipes weren’t lining up right.

So what did I do?
✔️ Checked alignment
✔️ Blew it out
✔️ Cleaned it
✔️ Checked it again… and again… and AGAIN

Still not working. 😤

Come to find out…
👉 there was a TINY piece lodged inside the pipe (see pic 👀)

And when I say tiny, I mean this little joker right here was enough to shut the whole system down.

Even after multiple attempts thinking it was clear…
❌ It was NOT clear

💡 Moral of the story:
Air threading problems don’t always mean something major is wrong—sometimes it’s just a microscopic troublemaker hiding where you can’t see it.

🔧 This is why repairs take time. It’s not guessing… it’s straight-up detective work.

If your serger starts acting up, don’t panic… just know there might be a tiny gremlin living rent-free in your machine 😂

Shop Status: Slam Full & Holdin’ On
I’m currently elbow-deep in sewing machines, lint tumbleweeds, and folks sayin’ “I don’t know what I did…” 😅

If I’m slow to reply, it’s not because I’m ignoring you — it’s because I’m in the back fixin’ what shouldn’t have been broke in the first place. Bless it!

The #1 thing I see when machines come in for repair?
👉 Lint packed into the bobbin area and
👉 Cheap or old thread causing chaos

A few simple habits can save you money and frustration:
✔ Clean lint regularly
✔ Use good quality thread
✔ Change your needle often
✔ Don’t blow lint into your machine

Your sewing machine is a precision tool — treat it well and it’ll treat you right 💜
