100 years ago today, one of the most iconic screen presences who ever lived was born. Marilyn Monroe has served as an idea for so long - what comes to mind when people think of celebrity, womanhood, mid-century sexuality, the relentlessness of media, and so much more - that it’s easy to forget, underneath it all, she was a normal woman with a normal desire to live in peace and who was happy to joke about the outrageousness of her fame.

Marilyn didn’t give too many in-depth and meaningful interviews in her lifetime, but in this radio interview from the mid 1950s, she discusses the popular conception of herself as a “dumb blonde” and her desire to retire in Brooklyn one day when she was done with acting.

Long before became the multimedia franchise we know and love today, it was simply the biggest movie that had ever been released. And since it would take 3 years for George Lucas to make the sequels that would jumpstart one of the biggest franchises of all time, that gave plenty of other producers and studios time to get their own sci-fi films onto the market and try to capture some of the Star Wars magic!!

Our Faces of Exhibition production blogs wrap up today with a look at our first international expedition to capture an exhibition professional overseas! This year, we covered Dave Quick, the Country Operations Manager in Spain for Kinepolis, who's at the forefront in the exhibition industry of turning regular screenings into events that audiences will remember for a long time.

It was great to walk around Kinepolis's Madrid location and see the state-of-the-art facility that remains just one example of the kind of work that Dave does, and it allowed us to capture footage from the Spanish premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash, where Disney transformed the theater to such a degree that it felt like you were entering Pandora when you walked through the front doors.

This year has provided no shortage of great horror movies to see on the big screen, but one that's impressed us most ever since we saw it at SXSW is Curry Barker's instant classic of the genre, , fusing a love story and a tale of a wish gone wrong into a funny, intense, edge-of-your-seat experience that proves audiences will still come out to see original ideas presented with lots of style on the big screen! Frogger Scott has been a fan ever since seeing it back in March, and we're so thrilled to see it do well at the box office in a crowded summer marketplace.

While The Devil Wears Prada 2, Mortal Kombat, and Michael rake in the big bucks at the box office, there’s a new family film that’s so charming and effortlessly winning that it’s got audiences of all ages talking about it. Frogger Seth went and checked out this past week and thought it lived up to the hype, with a hilarious, surprisingly moving story about a flock of sheep raised on mystery novels who set out to investigate the death of their shepherd.
