When Oda says:
“There are adults that kill people while declaring, ‘This is a holy war!’ or ‘This is justice!’ And there are children that see that.”
He’s not just talking about pirates and Marines.
He’s talking about real-world hypocrisy. 👀
In One Piece, we constantly see:
The World Government committing atrocities in the name of “justice”
Pirates labeled “evil” while some fight for freedom
Children like Robin, Law, and even Luffy witnessing brutality justified as righteousness
Oda has always questioned:
Who defines justice?
Who decides what is holy?
And why are the innocent always the ones watching and suffering?
And then he ends it with:
“My inner thoughts are always: world peace.”
That’s the heart of One Piece. 🥶
Despite all the chaos, wars, betrayals, and conspiracies…
The core theme isn’t destruction.
It’s freedom without oppression.
Justice without cruelty.
Peace without control.
That’s why Luffy doesn’t want to conquer the world.
He just wants everyone to be free.
This quote is basically Oda revealing the emotional spine of the entire series.
One Piece isn’t just an adventure story.
It’s a long prayer for a better world. 🌍
