The countdown is on for the upcoming 'Breaking Barriers: Q***r Love and Domestic Violence' panel I am moderating with Hope's Door New Beginning Center on June 20th. There are so many wonderful voices included on this panel but one I am really looking forward to is Danielle Kowal.

Danielle, a trans woman, uses her story of resiliency and overcoming barriers to advocate for the community and support others whether in a political overhaul or within the work she does as a non-profit leader in the community.

This free event (in person or virtual) will be a great opportunity to hear from those with lived experience and professionals working to break down any barriers to access for those in need. This panel will deepen understanding & foster solidarity.

I recently partnered with Denton County MHMR Center to bring Youth Mental Health First Aid to the staff of Roots Renewal Ranch. This amazing adolescent treatment center is committed to ensuring that every single staff person is trained in because they understand the impact that one person can make on someone's life. It was such an honor to be a part of growing their knowledge as an organization and getting to learn more about the work they do while training them the past few months and supporting them in understanding how can complement the already wonderful work they do!
