Fun Marketing Fact Friday!

DID YOU KNOW: 69% of businesses with a website have a domain authority score of less than 20 out of 100?

What does that mean and why should you care?

Well, your website's domain authority is the score that search engines (i.e. Google/Bing) and authority sites like MOZ, give to every website. You can think of the domain authority (DA) as a total "grade" of your website from 1-100. The lower the score, the less "optimized" your website is. It also means that there are no "other websites" with good scores (domain authorities) linking (pointing) to your site. A low domain authority can result in a lack of high search volume keywords that your site will have opportunities to rank for, and therefore, the amount of website traffic and customers you can reach will also be diminished. So in other words; a low domain authority it's not good.

HERE'S SOME TRUTH FOR YOU: Don't let the 1-100 scale frighten you though. This can be a little confusing because reaching a score of 100 is an unattainable goal for most websites in most industries. A GREAT domain authority would be 60-70 out of 100. That being said, a score below 20 is still VERY POOR and 69% of websites are in that POOR range in 2020!

Do you know what your domain authority is?

If not, we recommend getting a website audit. Most companies charge for them, but if an agency truly has your best intentions at heart, they will give you a FREE website assessment and give you a plan for how to increase your domain authority, which will be a positive step towards generating new traffic and new customers. Remember, digital marketing and lead generation have a LOT to do with A LOT of factors, so this is just ONE THING in everyTHING. But it's important to understand and master if you're wanting to have a successful online business that generates organic traffic and leads.

1. Split Test your SEO
This is a "newer" concept for a lot of digital agencies. Always conducted on paid ads campaigns, but on SEO? Really? Yes, you can isolate certain keywords within long-tail keywords and after a few months determine which keyword is generating the most traffic. There's a lot more to that, but that's the gist.

2. Artificial Intelligence
AI can analyze consumer behavior, search patterns, and pretty much be the best 'analyst employee' your agency can have. Our business is built on relationships, so I am 100% for people instead of bots, but in some cases, you'll need to adopt an AI strategy and utilize it as a service for your clients. A great example, is a Chat Bot. Seamlessly setting up a Chat Bot for your clients will dramatically change the portfolio that you can offer your clients.

3. Video Marketing
Video is definitely the most popular way that consumers are gathering information before purchasing these days. On almost every internet platform: e-commerce, social media, websites, etc., videos are a crucial asset for any business going into 2020. As a digital agency, you may have clients in other states, so how are you going to incorporate video marketing as a service if the clients don't know how to shoot their own videos?
