Trying to get noticed by a reporter on Instagram? Here’s a tip: go to the journalist or influencer’s profile and check out what hashtags they follow. If you use those hashtags you have a good chance of popping up on their feed.

Pitching a story to get free publicity: always pitch a story, not yourself. A common mistake people make is pitching their expertise “if you ever need a child psychologist to talk about issues, I’m available”. A more effective approach is to pitch a great story about children’s psychological needs and offer to talk about it.

Here's a super important tip I'm giving my clients who are doing Zooms: keep looking into the camera when you're being interviewed! It's so tempting to look at the interviewer on your computer screen, but when you do that, you lose eye contact with the person you are trying to reach: the viewer, your customer.
