A great quote and post by artist ~ Repost from ~
Last week I spoke on a panel for Women In The Know, an organization in Dallas dedicated to helping women in business. The theme of the event was “Risky Women” and the other panelists are all so incredible, it was truly my honor to be on the stage with these amazing women as we shared our insights and experiences. Preparing for this event gave me the opportunity to reflect on how much my entrepreneurial and artistic efforts overlap. One of my favorite quotes is “You don’t know your limits until you exceed them,” and I believe this to be especially true for both artists and entrepreneurs because it requires taking risks that go way past the comfort zone. My personal challenge is resisting the temptation to rely on my past experiences and default to the familiar option that feels certain. I then have to remind myself that if failure isn’t a possible option, it isn’t a risk. Experience has taught me that failure teach lessons that can’t be learned with success because in success, it is easy to mistake being lucky for being good. I attribute the professional and artistic career that I have had so far to; putting in the work, being blessed with a whole lot of luck, and taking enough risks to learn that Gordon Sumner (aka Sting) is correct – “Risk is not the enemy, it is fortune’s accomplice.”

Happy Women’s Entrepreneurship Day!! 11.19.21 ~ With women accounting for 20% (and growing) of small businesses in America, it’s a day worth celebrating! These women pictured here exude strength, love, perseverance, beauty, determination and passion. Most of these women are friends of mine, a couple of them I’ve developed a friendship through social media, and four of them I’ve never met or spoken with but I highly respect. I know I’m missing some and I apologize if I did, so many amazing women to include! I want to celebrate and share how great these humans are, and what a difference each one of them make in our world every single day!
I’m incredibly blessed to be surrounded by not only such entrepreneurial women, but bad ass, strong, full of life, determined women who make me better by who they authentically are and what they do. Love you all!! 💖
P.S. Yes I included a photo of myself. I’m a woman, an entrepreneur and these are my friends! 😉

NEW WORK! This gorgeous blue sculpted piece by artist Jo Temming has been donated to the live online auction of the Dallas Zoo Zoo To Do 30th Anniversary event this Saturday! Read below how to participate in the online auction that is going on now, you can bid on this artwork!

Repost from ~
As a life-long animal lover, I know Zoos are controversial and opinions can be strong about whether or not they should even exist. Wanting to learn more, I was able to spend a recent morning at the Dallas Zoo with a friend who is on their board. She, and members of the staff, educated me about their very important rescue and conservation work that has helped prevent the extinction of animals around the globe. During this enlightening tour, I agreed to donate one of my recent works of art to support the 30th Anniversary of their annual fundraiser, the Zoo To Do this weekend. If you are an animal lover, please consider joining me, and local sponsors of the Dallas Zoo to provide critical funds needed to support the 2,000+ animals in their care. Fortunately, tickets have been sold out for months in advance. However, there is still a way to support their important work. The Zoo To Do online auction is live and open for bidding. If you would like to help, just visit the Dallas Zoo Web site, search for Zoo To Do and follow the links to register for online bidding. Once an account has been created, all of the auction items are available for viewing. In addition to this artwork that I donated, there are Neiman Marcus gift cards, American Airlines miles, Dallas Mavericks or Stars tickets, gift certificates to local restaurants, art done by some of their animals, and more! This is a great opportunity to get some holiday shopping done early AND support a great cause!
