Podcast recommendation 🎧 🌟 I enjoy Joseph Warren's First 100K podcast because it's focused on surviving and thriving in those early business days.

Personally, I don't want to make $20 million in revenue (profit, ok, that's different). I want to run the business I love and find a good balance between God, people, life, and time. That's why a solid $100K business might be more appealing than the average person thinks.

Get to know your customers with a giveaway and survey all wrapped up into one!

As a writer, I'm inclined to theorize about ideal customers instead of meeting them where they're at. But that's a recipe for a marketing disaster!

That's why I created this survey and button set for Artisan Obscura. They've got such a niche audience - high end camera users - that you can't just assume you know what they want.

Also, are you interested in winning a free button and hot shoe cover set? Even YOU can enter the giveaway and take our survey! Plus you'll get a 25% off code when you complete the survey.

What's your take on the term "freelancer?"

I personally try to avoid it. "Freelancer" carries baggage that I associate with haphazard, one-off projects. I sense the term still carries a stigma that's a step below "legitimate" businesses. The same goes for "contractor."

I'm trying to use "independent professional" or "remote professional" instead. But maybe there's a better term!

What's a better word for "freelancer?"

Last week I needed to take some time alone to refocus on purpose. As a writer, sometimes I want to give up. But I came up with the phrase, "There are people who need who you are."

I taped it underneath my computer monitor.

Maybe you need this today. Maybe there's someone you know who needs to hear it.

Do you have questions about workplace etiquette and conflict you're too afraid to ask in public? Here's your chance!

I've been on the team working to launch The Work Remix Podcast. The show follows a Q&A format to bring you a positive approach to personal and organizational change. Lindsey, the host, combines classic business practices from the past with modern ways of working.

So, we're always accepting your Q's to provide the best answers.

Leave your workplace questions in the comments or send me a direct message!

The biggest perk of working with my clients? Learning!

It's such a privilege to assist Karla Raines in coordinating Differentiation Zone's platform. With her focus on customers and entering the customer mindset, I think I learn something new every day.

Here's an example of Karla's insights: "Getting your customer to choose your organization isn’t about describing 'what we do.' It’s about knowing 'why we matter.'"

If you're an executive or non-profit leader in the Denver area, I highly recommend you attend one of Karla's strategy camps. Get clear on who your customer is. Next one is February 28!
