Vote, baby, vote. 🇺🇸
I think it is obvious how I voted (hopefully IG doesn’t shadow ban me for it) but here are a few disclaimers:
Aside from the Economy, gun rights, and immigration, I actually lean democratic on most other issues. I’m not a Trump fan, quite honestly, I dislike the guy. But, I have solid past behavioral data on what I can expect of him with regard to the top 3 most important to me topics (from his presidency). I also have behavioral data about what I can expect from Harris (from her vice-presidency). Hence my vote. What either of them say to try to convince me to vote for them is inconsequential to me. Do I care about abortion? Yes, I do! But if I can’t afford to even go on a date, that’s the bottom of my worries right now. Do I care about import tariffs? You bet! But if I can’t even pay my electricity - I most certainly won’t be buying chachkis from China. Do I care about LGBTQ issues. Hell yeah. But if I can’t pay my gym membership, does it matter if they have an extra bathroom? Do I care about democracy: sure do. But I want to be able to defend myself against a tyrannical government, no matter what color its ballot was.
You catch my drift. My point is: regardless of how you chose to vote today, please respect my choice. Please don’t call me N**i, racist, homophobic, insensitive, close-minded, greedy, privileged, or misogynistic. I think it is obvious I am not. Let’s be nice and civil and whoever comes on top this year - let’s support them and try to do our best to fix this mess…
