After what was a pretty bumpy end to 2025 and an equally rough start to 2026, I finally feel like I’m finding my way back to what I love.
Between multiple home issues, a loss in my family, and a car accident, it’s been a season of simply surviving. But I’m choosing to believe the bad juju has run its course, or at least one can hope.
The important thing is getting back up, brushing yourself off, and continuing forward.
Looking ahead, my plans for Chasing Beauty Media in 2026 feel full of possibility: finishing the first draft of CBM Magazine, welcoming new small business clients, and expanding into representing local artists whose stories deserve to be seen and shared.
Here’s to rebuilding, creating, and chasing beauty again! If you are a small business needing help with social media management, an artist wanting to share your craft, would like to write an article for the magazine, or just wanting to collaborate please reach out!

This past Thursday I attended the opening of “Appropriate Everything” at Sinclair Community College, featuring two mixed-media artists whose work bursts with pop-culture references, layered symbolism, and a playful but thoughtful approach to storytelling.
Urban Cowboy pulls you in with its typewritten fragments, bold numbers, playful patterns, and unexpected imagery that feels like flipping through a dream you half-remember. His work balances whimsy with coded meaning, inviting you to decode each symbol for yourself.
has pieces, including Dreams and Ooh La La, that are equally captivating. From rubber ducks and connect-the-dots imagery to swirling color fields and childhood toys frozen mid-motion, his compositions mix nostalgia with abstraction. The longer you look, the more the hidden layers reveal themselves. All of these small clues, repeated phrases, and subtle textures that make every inch active.
Together, their work feels like stepping into a visual scrapbook of culture, memory, and subconscious thought with equal parts playful and profound.
If you’re in Dayton, this show is absolutely worth a visit.

Sometimes you find art in the most unexpected places.
Every fall, my husband and I make our annual trip to the Sauerkraut Festival in Waynesville, Ohio. We always go for the food, the crafts, and now… the art!
Between bites of sauerkraut pizza and our traditional German sundaes, I unexpectedly found these three incredibly talented artists, each with such distinct voices:
– Watercolor and acrylic works that feel both delicate and powerful.
– A completely unique mixed media approach, layering paint textures and digital elements to create vibrant animal collages.
– A printmaker (my current obsession!) with beautifully hand-inked prints that capture whimsy and craft in equal measure.
I’d love to feature these incredible artists in the Chasing Beauty Gallery once it’s up and running! They each embody the spirit of creativity that makes local art so special.
Which one speaks to you the most?

My first time visiting , and while it was a smaller show, I still found a gem.
Artist Trey Small was set up behind his vibrant cartoon and collage work, but it was his self-portrait Headshots with a web of newspaper clippings that left me wanting to know more.
Blending both the beautiful and the tragic moments in Black history, Trey reflects pieces of himself through his art, using mixed media to create something deeply human and much like this work, layered.
I’ll be reaching out soon to learn more about his story.

Another featured artist in the first edition of Chasing Beauty Magazine is Elisha Frontz Art
Her piece “God’s Eye” transforms memory and loss into something lasting. It’s a reflection on heritage, healing, and the legacy we leave behind.
Elisha is part of our first-issue collection Heritage & Legacy Through Modern Eyes: a celebration of artists who honor tradition while reshaping it for today’s world.

Last night the 'Spheres' gallery opening at I couldn’t help but think of that old idea of the universe as a marble in a giant’s hand.
Each piece of art felt like a tiny cosmos of its own. And it just reminded me that sometimes, art is how we hold entire worlds in our hands, just like that old myth or theory about giants playing with marbles.
Created in his new home studio, Spheres was Elliot Ward’s “escape.” A teacher by day, he breaks the rules through abstraction making work that’s both familiar and strange, recognizable yet leading your mind into the unknown.
Gallery owner Edward Dixon displayed these pieces in a guided color story pulling you through the collection as you start in the dark and slowly step into the light. This installation is worth popping by to see where these worlds take you.

Anything worth having takes time.
As I build this new branch of Chasing Beauty Media into more than a brand story and marketing company, I have to remind myself to slow down and enjoy the journey.
Like a work of art, it takes time to become a masterpiece.
What I want to create is something that nurtures the art lover in all of us. The adventurer, the dreamer, the passionate romantic who still believes in chasing beauty, even in the small things.
Chasing Beauty is growing into a magazine and an online gallery for artists, art lovers, and the casual observer alike. It’s not pretentious or stuffy, it’s about the stories that make the world a more beautiful and connected place.
We’re all on this journey called life together. Let’s share it. 🤍
