After meeting the organization's founder in 2020, Brett became fascinated by sustainability and wanted to better understand how he and his family could make more intentional choices at home. “If you build it, they will come” is a great movie line and pretty terrible business advice.

They come when you tell them. When you invite them. When you show up where they already are, again and again, until your name feels familiar. The best product in town still loses to an average one people actually know about.

Building the thing is step one. Building the path to people is the step most skip - and it's the one that pays the bills.

Another student founder making real progress.

Jack Kennessey has been building KyoGo, a digital publishing company creating action comics inspired by Japanese manga and designed for a western audience.

Through our Student Pathways program, Jack has been developing more than just a story. He's been researching his audience, refining his go-to-market strategy, building his brand, and growing the social media presence that will support his launch.

One of his biggest takeaways? Realizing that building an audience starts long before a product is released. Understanding how to connect with readers and create community before publishing his first chapter has become a key part of his strategy.

Quantum Foam Networking is our monthly meetup for the people actually building: founders, students, professionals, service providers, and anyone moving the Dayton ecosystem forward.

This summer, we’ve moved our in-person meetups to virtual meetups. In-person sessions will begin again soon. Until then, join us virtually from wherever you are!
