One of the craziest things about living in Colorado is that sometimes you literally get to see the seasons collide. Last year I was fortunate enough to see the leaves change in 5 different states but this year I’ll be keeping it closer to home. All that being said, home has never looked so good! .

Three years ago around this time I was as the beginning of a very epic adventure heading north to Canada when I received the call from my Mom that Grandpa had passed away. Until I was nearly 18 I spent every summer with my family at my Grandparents cabin in Minnesota. We were the grandchildren who lived far away but came for a special couple months to a magic place to spend time with our Grandparents. As you get older the memories begin to fade a bit but I hold close the many memories of those summers at Big Pine Lake. I will never forget things like how Grandpa would patiently hook the bait on to our fishing poles, or wear his captain’s hat as he piloted use for sunset cruises on the old orange pontoon boat. Or how we would watch him quietly filet all the fish at the kitchen sink or in the back of the cabin. I will never forget peeking out the cabin window early in the morning and seeing him in his slippers, tattered blue robe, coffee and cigarette in hand enjoying what as presumably his most peaceful time of day.

Alaska is hands down one of the most wild feeling places I’ve ever been. Everything feels so much bigger and more remote. I’ve been there twice now and haven’t even begun to scratch the surface. Started the day dreaming and feeling grateful for all the adventures that I’ve had the opportunity to have and looking forward to new ones when life allows it again.

From the Colorado Trail... tight before Kokomo Pass. One of my favorite days of hiking for sure. It’s been a few weeks now and I’m definitely missing the freedom of the thin dirt line. Can’t wait to figure out what adventure comes next though! Hope wherever you are this weekend that you safely get outside and enjoy some sunshine! With Love from Colorado

I’ve watched the sunrise in so many beautiful places on this earth but will always be one of my favorites. Even though I had no plans to be there, I found myself camped out for one night last week as I passed through Arizona. Where is your favorite sunrise spot?

I spent the last week everywhere from the Grand Canyon to the San Juan’s feeling fortunate for the ability to feel the freedom of the open road and an open schedule. It was helpful in ways to process a bit of what the past six months have been like but I realize it’s just the beginning. Back in Denver now with new motivation for what feels like an oddly strange fresh start as I cautiously begin to do the work I love once again. I hope you all feel that way too.

Last year right around now I was finishing up work with and .m____ . We stuck around a few extra days to make some photos. By the end of August fall was rolling in quickly. 2019 was the year I saw fall three times. Once there, once in Colorado, and once in Oregon. What’s your favorite season?
