Just because you're cranking out content on a regular basis doesn't mean you're doing it right. In fact, consistency is only one small part of the content marketing equation. No matter how often you publish, your content still needs to be interesting, informative, and targeted to your audience. Otherwise, all that consistent output is just going to end up in the virtual trash. So before you start furiously churning out articles, make sure you have a plan in place to ensure that all that content is actually worth reading. Once you've figured that out, then you can start thinking about how often to publish. But until then, less is definitely more.

Every piece of content you create should have a call-to-action. That doesn't mean every article you write needs to end with "buy my product." But it does mean that every article should have a purpose beyond simply taking up space on the internet. Your call-to-action can be something as simple as encouraging your readers to share your article on social media, or signing up for your email list. The important thing is that you're giving your readers something to do after they've finished reading your piece. Otherwise, what's the point? So if you want people to actually read your content, make sure you're giving them a reason to stick around until the very end.

Building an effective editorial calendar is no easy task. Here are a few tips to get you started:

1. First, take some time to brainstorm the topics that you want to cover. This can be anything from current events to seasonal trends.

2. Once you have a list of potential topics, start mapping out when you want to publish each piece of content. This will help you to ensure that your content is well-timed and that there is a consistent flow of new material.

3. Finally, make sure to leave some room for flexibility in your calendar. Things change, and you may need to adjust your plans as new opportunities arise. By being flexible, you can ensure that your editorial calendar always remains relevant.

An editorial calendar is a beautiful thing - it's like a roadmap for your content that keeps you focused and on track. Without an editorial calendar, it's all too easy to get lost in the weeds and end up with a scattered, haphazard approach to content marketing that doesn't achieve much. But with an editorial calendar in place, you can map out exactly what you want to achieve with your content, and then create a plan to make it happen. So if you're serious about content marketing, the first step is to build yourself a killer editorial calendar. Trust me, it will be worth the effort.

You're probably familiar with the concept of a call-to-action (CTA): an ask at the end of an ad or piece of content that encourages the reader to take some sort of desired action. CTAs are crucial for getting people to take the next step in their relationship with your brand, whether that's signing up for your newsletter, downloading a white paper, or making a purchase.

But not all CTAs are created equal. In fact, crafting an effective CTA is more of an art than a science. But don't worry, we've got you covered. Here are a few tips to consider that will help you craft calls-to-action that elicit a better response:

1. Keep it short and sweet. The best CTAs are clear and to the point. They should be easy to understand and leave no room for ambiguity. If your CTA is too long or complicated, people will likely gloss over it or forget it entirely.

2. Use active language. Words like "click," "download," and "subscribe" are all examples of active language that can help increase the likelihood that people will take action. Avoid passive constructions like "click here to find out

Email marketing is a funny thing. People hate getting emails from brands, but when they opt in to receive email from you, they're basically giving you permission to market to them. It's a weird paradox, but it's true. And well-crafted permission based email marketing can allow you to develop one-to-one relationships en masse, like no other marketing channel can. Step one is to acquire subscribers, then over time through anticipated, personal and relevant emails, you can turn those subscribers into passionate buyers. Soon after launching in 2008, the Content Marketing Institute found that their email subscribers closed to customers three times faster than non-subscribers. Since then they have focused around the one goal of growing their email subscriber base. It now stands at over 90,000. So if you're not using email marketing to grow your business, you're missing out on a huge opportunity.

There's more to content marketing than meets the eye. Yes, at its core, content marketing is about creating and sharing content that your target audience will find valuable. But there's more to it than that. Content marketing can also be used to achieve a variety of business goals, from boosting brand awareness to generating leads and converting customers. In fact, with the right strategy in place, content marketing can help you achieve all of your business goals - and then some. So if you're looking to get more out of your content marketing efforts, consider these six possible goals: brand awareness, lead generation and nurturing, customer conversion, customer service, upsells, and subscribers. With any (or all) of these goals in mind, you can create a content marketing strategy that will help you achieve them - and grow your business in the process.

Content marketing can be a huge boon for businesses, but it requires a significant investment of time. To make sure that time is well spent, it's important to have a clear goal in mind from the outset. What do you want your content marketing efforts to achieve? Once you know the answer to that question, you can begin planning and creating content that will help you reach your goal. If you're not clear on what you want to achieve, your content may not be as effective as it could be. So take the time to think about your goals before you dive into content marketing, and you'll be much more likely to see big payoffs down the road.
