When it comes to the business of life… the words you surround yourself with matter! My entire professional career was in the Corporate World. B.

As a Human Resources professional; a dress and heels, corporate meetings, travel, and conference calls were my norm. Until, a divorce, a company closure, and a new marriage changed all that. I reluctantly stopped interviewing and swapped my stilettos for casual attire, moved into a new home with 5 kids (2 mine and 3 new bonus kids) and joined my new husband in running his business. In the beginning is was blissful.. I even tried to do some consulting to maintain my credibility in my profession. BUT… I was completely out of my comfort zone, I felt really lost and didn't know what to do with myself. I was blissfully married, volunteering, attending all the things I used to miss for the kids, but not fulfilled. I was having an IDENTITY CRISIS! That identity crisis combined with the sudden loss of my mother set me into a tailspin which lasted 2 years. Until one day, I took charge of what I wanted my new “career” and work to look like. It was time to adjust my perspective and change my mindset. I wanted balance, freedom to make choices, to inspire others, and mostly to find MY BEST ME! I replaced therapy with distance running, a kick-ass life coach and launched With Mrs. My mission is to inspire and share with you what I have learned about investing in yourself, listening to your gut, giving to others, and sharing in a way that inspires you to Choose Joy and Do Hard Things!

Have you ever stopped to listen to 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲?

“I’m behind.”
“I always mess this up.”
“It’s too late for me.”
“That’s just who I am.”

When we repeat those words enough, we start making choices as though they’re facts.

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲. You don’t get to choose everything that happens, but you do have a say in what you make it mean and what you choose next.

You can acknowledge a hard chapter without letting it define the rest of your story.

𝗧𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆: 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗔𝘀𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳, “I𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵? 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲?”

“I’m learning.”
“I can choose differently.”
“There is still room for what I want.”

This is the heart behind the 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚... a community where we can recognize the stories keeping us stuck, explore new possibilities, and support each other in taking action. Because sometimes someone else helps you see a possibility you’ve stopped seeing for yourself.

Tomorrow is the day. 🌈🦋

After almost three years of bringing Free To Be Me to life, it officially launches tomorrow.

And we're setting out to put:

1,000 books.
Into 1,000 homes.
For 1,000 little leaders.
But the vision goes beyond Launch Day.
$2 from every book sold will be paid forward to help put more copies of Free To Be Me into the hands of children.

So every copy purchased has the opportunity to create a ripple beyond the child receiving it.
Tomorrow, we get to begin. 🦋

These are the moments.

Learning to ride the bike.

Walking into a new classroom.

Meeting a new teacher.

Joining the other kids on the playground.

Trying something for the first time.

Making a mistake.

Beginning again.

The moments when the adults who love them won't always be right beside them with the perfect words.

What if they already had words of their own?

I can do this.
I believe in myself.
I trust myself.
I am brave.
I am worthy.
I am loved.
I am free to be me.

Think about a child in your life.

Maybe it's your own child. Your grandchild. Your niece or nephew. A student. A neighbor's child. A little person you love fiercely.

Now think about this:
What do you want them to believe about themselves as they grow?
That they can do this.
That they can trust themselves.
That they are brave.
That they are worthy.
That they are loved.
That they are free to be exactly who they are.

That's the heart behind Free To Be Me, a new lyrical picture book for children ages 4–7 by my dear friend, educator, Master Certified NeuroCoach + mom .lianne.carter, illustrated with 17 original oil paintings by the talented .

Both of my grandsons are part of the book + it's available this Friday, October 16. 🦋

I trust myself.

Three simple words. Yet this week, in my coaching conversations, I’ve been reminded how hard they can be to live.

I hear thoughtful, capable people second-guessing their decisions + looking for someone else to confirm what, deep down, they already know.

And I recognize it. I’ve done it, too.

That pattern can show up everywhere... in our relationships, our parenting, our businesses, and the choices that shape our lives.

Sometimes my role as a coach is to ask:
“What do YOU believe? Before you ask me, what is your answer?”

Every time we pause long enough to listen and take a step, we practice trusting ourselves. We can seek support, learn, and change our minds while still honoring our own voice.

That’s part of why supporting the launch this week of the children’s book Free to Be Me, means so much to me.

Its message invites children to begin building that foundation early: I trust myself.

Imagine carrying those words with you from childhood. Having them as a truth to return to when life gets loud, opinions are everywhere + you forget that your voice matters, too.

As adults, we get to practice what we hope our children will grow up knowing.

So today, this is my note to self... and maybe yours:

I can listen. I can choose. I can learn as I go.
I trust myself.
