I shot this image of for late 2025 while in Texas. This dudes Instagram is pretty awesome. I followed him before I met him just cause I was into the stuff he posted. Mostly golf but with a heavy cowboy influence. We got up in the morning on our second day there to catch a sunrise and do some dove hunting. It’s crazy how you can try all day to get something epic during the meat of the day and for the most part you can but nothing compares to morning and evening light. Although it may be hard to get it going in the am it’s always worth it. For some reason when I get up I’m usually in a good mood. Maybe even a little annoying cause I’m ready to start cracking jokes. I find that my audience is much more receptive when they’re still a bit tired. Either way it’s fun and you end up with some great shots most of the time.

My parents came by for a bit and I sat my mom down to take a few shots of her while she was picking up the flowers my finance bought for her on Mother’s Day. I can’t say in words how much my entire family and my lady mean to me. They’re the most important thing in my life without question. Love you ❤️

Thank you mom for a lifetime of devoting everything you are to all of us. You’re beautiful and although we will never be able to repay you for the life you gave us,and your selflessness when it comes to making sure we are good men that open doors for others, look people in the eyes when we speak and respect our elders we will always be forever grateful for everything that you have given us. Love you. ❤️

Just hopped off the phone with my good friend . For anyone who follows Watersports, He's an icon of wakeboarding and wakeskating. He’s helped mold the sport into what it is today. His birthday just passed on the 20th of April and recently he was on our mutual friends' podcast who are also watersports legends . Between these guys, there’s a lot of wakeboard history and a whole lot of life experience. I got to travel the globe with many of these guys and girls over a 15-year or so span and it’s such an incredible way to get to know the world around you. You’re off to cities all over the United States every week. Once a month or so you get to travel to a foreign country where you’re usually greeted by someone who knows the lay of the land and shows you the very best parts of their culture. Scott has been on twice now and he mentioned that he wants to go back on to share a bit more. I told him that I enjoyed it and he should absolutely go back on and keep in mind that he has a literal lifetime in the sport and to cover all the bases it would take many episodes. I’m here for it! His first episode was episode 9 and I think this was episode 32. Parks and Shane have created a cool thing on their podcast. Yes, it's Wakeboards heavy but those guys transcend wakeboarding and have been involved with so many different people and projects through action sports, and beyond that the pool of people they can access to have on the show is almost limitless. If you get a moment and like to hear wild stories and some heartfelt conversations I’d recommend it. There’s a reason these guys have had the longevity and it’s not just because they’re great athletes. They’re great people who have represented our industry when it was booming. They carried the torch long before pocket computers, social media, and digital cameras were even a thing, and were still global icons. Hats off to you my friend and Happy birthday. I can’t wait for the next one, maybe I can sit in!?!

One of my favorite shots from the past year. .hutchings_208 leading this horse along the ocean's edge. There's something serene about it. The way the water flows onto the beach and back out creates a perfect mirror image. Reflections have always fascinated me. Nature's way of creating art. I'd shoot moments like this all day. On long photoshoots, some images make you eager to edit. This was one of those moments. Next time you're at the beach, try capturing the simple things. Even birds walking can make for a great shot.

Throughout life, you meet all kinds of people. If you’re smart and a little lucky you realize what to leave behind and what to keep. This photo is of a California Golf Legend by the name of Bobby Olds. I've gotten to know him over the past couple of years, and I consider him a good friend. We’re separated by about 40 years in age, but we view the world in a very similar way. The latter part of that makes the years seem inconsequential. His golf accolades are impressive to say the least, but the conversations we have after rounds and just hanging out are valuable. On his 85th birthday last year, he shot 74 which he would say is OK not great but OK. The other day at 86 he turned in a 72 one-over-par round at his home golf course out at Lone Tree just one town over. He was happy with that. The reason that’s relevant is that he knows his ability and is honest with himself about when he’s performed the way he knows he can. 74 is only 2 shots from 72. A very small margin, but the point is that if you were one foot short of crossing the finish line you still fell short, but if you quit and don’t try again tomorrow you’ll never cross that finish line. When you see a man or anyone for that matter keep pushing to achieve what they know in their heart to be possible, it makes you want to do the same for yourself. In that way, Bob has pushed so many people to realize their potential whether he realizes it or not. I have been lucky enough to have quite a few friends in this lifetime who have given me that gift through their actions. There are good people around all of us that we can look to who will help us through life by just being a good example. It could be a conversation or a decision you watch them make that can give you the roadmap to create a more meaningful life for yourself. Whatever it is for you, I suggest you surround yourself with those people. Thanks for being you Bobby you’re a once-in-a-lifetime human being. They definitely broke the mold.

One the best humans I’ve ever met. Nick Leason. He is the founder of and is a pioneer in the foil industry. He invented the e-foil and makes an incredible product. The reason his product is so well made is because he is a phenomenal engineer and a world class athlete. He doesn’t want to be the center of attention but when we shoot it’s impossible not to photograph him. This shot was taken on a trip to Kauai a few years back. We went to visit with the legend . That’s a whole other story but to stay on topic, I’m so glad I crossed paths with Nick. As we get older I tend to focus my time on being with people who improve my life. Nick and his family are definitely those people.

The last time I posted about Randall I chose not to include any riding images. Not because of anything other than the fact that I had so many pictures of him smiling that I just don’t think people got to see. Everyone was very focused on his athletic ability, which was indeed incredible. A true once-in-a-lifetime talent. I think about my friend daily and today as I scrolled through my photos as I often do, I ran across this image. I remember shooting this years ago while Randall was in Discovery Bay. If you’re not familiar with the Delta, it’s an amazing waterway that provides long straight runs while simultaneously curving for hundreds of miles before it spills out into the ocean. Some of the waterways are narrower than others, but most people would not have a problem riding in any of them. Randall on the other hand had to be a bit more selective, you see when he cuts out he literally ends up even with, or just passed where the driver's seat is. Not to mention the speed at which he rode. Somewhere around 28 miles an hour. He would charge the Wake and send it so far into the flats with so much speed that there literally wasn’t enough room for him to do what he wanted, unless we were on one of the wider sloughs. A long time ago while speaking with another good friend, Scott Byerly, he mentioned that he enjoyed watching people ride that had such a unique style to their craft that you could tell who it was no matter how far away you were or even in a silhouette. I believe this is one of those images. I’m forever grateful for the time we spent with each other and even though you’re gone too soon you lived a fuller life than most human beings who made it to 100. Until we meet again my friend. To the moon! 🙏.

The man pictured here is . I shot this for just about a month or so ago along side my good friend . Together we have had the opportunity to work with some really great humans. We usually spend a couple days with folks to get the shots we need for the projects we’re working on. During that time we get to hang out a get to know each other a little better. These folks are inviting us into their homes so obviously we want to make a good impression. Mo and his family are absolutely amazing. Here we were setting up to begin conducting an interview and just kind of clowning around. Mo cracked a smile, which he does often, and so I took a quick shot. I just loved the way the moment felt. Light hearted conversation followed by some good perspective on life. You can watch this series we did along with many others on Kubotas you tube channel. I’ll leave a clickable link in my bio. I hope you enjoy watching as much as we did creating it.
