Graham Rickerman, , just can’t turn it off! He’s been a behind the scenes photographer for us on a couple of our films and here’s a behind the scenes photo of the behind the scenes photographer! Wait, is he framing out the next photo or eating pizza…

Never mind he is eating pizza…🤦‍♂️

He couldn’t be doing the shoot anyway because he is the shoot! 🤩 (that’s how he’d put it at least!) Along with doing some behind the scenes photography for us he has also acted in several of our films!

Graham plays Steve the Executioner in “The Devil’s Tongue”… He added the executioner to his role. He also created his own signature move “The Grammar Hammer” 🔨 🤦‍♂️ We didn’t care as long as he put on his f**kin’ mask when we told him to…

Anyways, thanks again to the wildly talented Bright, , for putting on the photo shoot! It was tons of fun! 🙏

Happy Father’s Day y’all!

Fictional Fathers are fathers too and here we have Hollywood Producer Harrison Porter and his son, Phil Porter.

There’s just such tenderness and love here. You can tell that “The Devil’s Tongue” experience really brought them together. Brought them closer! That’s what we do at Desert Dwellers we bring people together 🤗🤦‍♂️

We had a little promotional shoot for “The Devil’s Tongue” on Wednesday night. Can’t wait for y’all to see them! 🤗

We were able to get most of the cast together and it was soooooo great to see everyone in costume and together. We made a really special little (feature) film! It really was a truly joyous occasion! Even though, , couldn’t make it and there were no Cherry Milkshakes! (Sorrrrrrryyyy, ! 😬)

Another Behind The Scenes photograph, this one of David Sbarge, , by Mr. Rickerman😍 , from the set of “Icarus Shrugged…”

David is basically the the perfect person on an indie film set. He shows up (sometimes even on time!), when asked to do something he just shrugs his shoulders and tries his best to get it done (except for cleaning, he tries but he’s almost as bad at it as I am 😝) He’s been a lead actor, “B” cameraman and run sound! (Sometimes all in one day! )

The point of this post (which isn’t to be humorous. My attempts at humor is really just me undercutting any potential vulnerability, I’ll talk to my therapist about it later) is to show some real appreciation to this magnificent man, who has been instrumental to almost everything we’ve done.

On an indie film set, you can be promoted and demoted many times during production (sometimes it happens in the same sentence) and we hope to be able to promote and demote this man many many more times!

Got to spend another weekend with the wonderful and wildly talented Sarah Ward, , and the Jubilant Jumpin’ Jon Nelson, . (I thought about just calling him Jumpin’ Jon Nelson, cuz I like that! Think on it Jon! But Sarah got two adjectives so Jon you get two, too. Hoooo boyyy I just realized I went on another super unnecessary parenthetical tangent 🤦‍♂️)

Anyways, we did it! An Artist’s Story is finished. Done! 🥳🥳🥳That’s it! No more adjusting it, Mr. Gowdy.

Sarah put her soul into this score and it shows. It real is a marvel that, honestly, words can’t describe, (and that’s okay because soon you’ll be able to see/hear it and you’ll be speechless)…

Jon was soooo kind to allow us into his space and give us access to his limitless talent and abilities to re-record after I got a wild hair about re-cutting the film therefore needed to record again.

We can not wait to get this out into the world! Where it belongs…

We dropped a teaser for “The Devil’s Tongue” this morning for our director’s birthday. Happy Birthday Julian, Julian Gowdy]. We were going to wait to color grade it and all that but he started yelling that it was his birthday day and he’d drop what he wanted to. Then he threw a chair. And then proceeded to curl up and cry in the corner. So we decided to release a lil taste of the film today…

First features are stressful…🤦‍♂️

Got to spend the weekend recording with two of the most talented people I know Super Sarah Ward, and The Mad Swede himself, Jon Nelson! 🤩

We’re working on what I guess would be called the “director’s cut” of An Artist’s Story! (even though we haven’t exactly released it yet…) The Director decided to go in and re-edit some scenes soooooooo here we are! 🤦‍♂️

We got some exiting things coming in the next week or so! So keep an eye on this space!

Annnnnnnnndddd it’s a wrap!!!

Gosh what a handsome bunch of folks! 😍 Love… Love… Love Them! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I took a few days off of posting because I was worried we’d get overly gushy and emotional, I’ll do that later, about wrapping on our first feature! (I think above is the least amount of gushy that’s possible and also less than is deserved…)

The last day was magical. We had a small pickup shot to do and some minor reshoots but that was it… We are through with all photography at this point, including all necessary reshoots!

Less than six months after our first day of filming, 28 or 29 (we aren’t exactly sure but we can debate it later)days of those filming, and we are done with the part that seemed impossible! There is still plenty of work that needs to be done in postproduction but we already have a 77 minute rough cut that we have begun showing some of the cast and crew, so they can see how wonderful all the work they put in truly is!

What we were able to accomplish is really going to shock some folks (for soooooooo many reasons. We can’t wait to share it with y’all!

We will be posting updates and behind the scenes photos over the next couple months so keep an eye on this page!
