History isn’t on the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee’s side, but Stellantis believes it has the formula to avoid the fate of past muscle trucks.
Zippy street trucks such as the previous Rumble Bee and the Ram SRT-10, which shared an engine with the Dodge Viper, flamed out after a few years.
Now Ram is ready to dive back into the world of swift, pavement-geared pickups with the latest Rumble Bee.
Tim Kuniskis, head of American brands at Stellantis, said the automaker has corrected what held back previous efforts. Some earlier muscle trucks were fast and powerful, but some didn’t have a look that conveyed their true prowess, he said.
