Hi, I’m Caitlyn 👋

If you’re new around here, or you’ve been following Cayres for a while, consider this my little reintroduction.

I’m the person behind Cayres Creatives, and I started Cayres because I believe small business owners deserve good marketing without having to figure it all out themselves.

Because I know what it’s like to have a million things on your plate.

You’re serving your customers.
Running the business.
Answering emails.
Doing the actual work that keeps the lights on.

There are SO many incredible businesses being built by people connected to the military and this November, I want to put some of them in the spotlight.

My husband has served for 12 years, and I’ve been by his side for all 12 (8 of those years as his wife… holy smokes!). Military life has shaped so much of our story, and it’s given me a front-row seat to the incredible people building businesses while serving, supporting, moving, adapting, and starting over.

I have quite a few hills I’m willing to die on when it comes to marketing. ⛰️

Not because there’s only one “right” way to market a business, but because I’ve seen how easy it is to spend time, money, and energy on things that feel productive without actually moving the business forward.

So here are five I’ll stand behind.

If your marketing feels like a lot of work without a lot of direction, maybe it’s time to rethink the strategy. I'll be waiting.

A small tweak that can make a BIG difference in your marketing:

Stop leading with what you do. Start with the problem you solve.

Your customers aren’t waking up thinking, “I need a business that offers XYZ service.”

They’re thinking:

“I don’t have time for this.”

“I don’t know how to fix this.”

“I wish this was easier.”

“I need help with this.”

Meet them there.

Before you hit post this week, ask yourself:

“What problem is my customer actually trying to solve?”

Then make that the starting point.

Try it for the next few weeks and see how it changes the way you create content.

And if you’re having a hard time figuring out what your customers actually need to hear…that’s the kind of thing I can help with. 😉
