"I was what we called a “one man band.” I shot my own video, wrote and edited my stories, and anchored weekend sports."
Before he became one of Idaho’s most trusted broadcast voices, legendary sports and news anchor Mark Johnson learned his craft in the demanding, rewarding trenches of local television. For over forty years, Mark experienced a privilege few ever will, an intimate invitation into thousands of living rooms every night to bring the defining moments of our world and our community directly home.
After anchoring in major sports cities like Milwaukee and Pittsburgh, interviewing icons like Muhammad Ali, and covering multiple Olympic Games, the pull of the Treasure Valley ultimately brought him back to KTVB in 1997. Alongside navigating the nightly news and raising two sets of twin daughters, Mark always believed that community service is the true soul of television, a legacy he still champions today through his work with local organizations like Inspire Excellence and the Borbonus Family Foundation.
