Twitter Fleets- From MeetEdgar Blog

First, you got your , now you've got your . Twitter's story feature has finally arrived. You will now see Fleets along the top of your Twitter feed, much like you do on . In your own Fleets, you can share text, images, and videos. You can also re-share your Tweets into Fleets. Users can respond to your Fleets with emojis or comments. And, yep, just like Instagram Stories, Fleets disappear after 24 hours.

Fleets are still new and their functionality is quite basic. You can add text overlays to photos and videos but there are no stickers, GIFs, or animation options (yet).

Should you use Twitter Fleets? It's too early to tell if Fleets will become a beloved part of Twitter. Edgar's already hearing that there are some new updates being tested on Fleets so new additions could make it the next best social media feature. For now, we recommend testing out a few fleets by upcycling existing or resharing your Tweets. This way, you'll be able to build data to see if your audience has started to engage with Fleets.

Instagram Guides are officially available to all! Instagram Guides are a new way to share content on Instagram. Users can now curate several posts with commentary to create scrollable step-by-step guides, curated wishlists, suggested itineraries, and more. You have three options with Guides: Places, Products, and Posts.
Product Guides allow you to recommend Products from different pages and Instagram shops.
With Places Guides, you can recommend local places.
Post Guides allow you to curate your own posts or saved posts into a curated guide.
Once a Guide is created, it will be saved in the new Guide Tab on your profile. You can also share the Guide to your Instagram stories.

Guides can be useful for sharing your latest products, favorite places or favorite tips and tricks. If you don't have access yet, hang tight because Instagram will keep rolling it out over the next few weeks.

Google just released their new policy changes. I am torn between loving and hating this. However I completely understand the need to protect peoples rights. Thoughts?

Google
Dear Advertiser,
On October 19, 2020, Google will update its Personalized advertising policies to introduce new targeting restrictions. In an effort to improve inclusivity for users disproportionately affected by societal biases; housing, employment, and credit products or services can no longer be targeted to audiences based on gender, age, parental status, marital status, or ZIP code.
Our records indicate your Google Ads account might be impacted by this change.
Examples of impacted products or services include, but are not limited to
• Housing: Housing listing sites, individual houses for sale or rental, real estate services
• Employment: Ads for jobs, job recruitment sites, job listing sites
• Credit: Credit cards, loans including home loans, car loans, appliance loans, short-term loans
This policy change will apply in the U.S. and Canada only. All advertisers using personalized ads to target audiences in the U.S. and Canada must comply with these changes.
What this means for advertisers promoting housing, employment, or credit
• Potentially impacted advertisers will receive notifications in their Google Ads account prompting them to acknowledge these policy changes and to agree to comply with relevant local laws. Advertisers who have not accepted these changes when the policy goes into effect on October 19 will be unable to create any new campaigns until they accept the changes.
• Additionally when the policy goes into effect on October 19, advertisers promoting housing, employment, or credit products or services will no longer be able to target audiences based on gender, age, parental status, marital status, or ZIP code. Any existing campaigns featuring housing, employment, or credit products or services that target newly restricted audiences will no longer be eligible to serve. Advertisers should update their campaigns before this policy goes into effect to ensure they aren’t negatively impacted.
For more information about the policy and how to acknowledge these policy changes in your account, refer to the upcoming policy for housing, employment and credit in Personalized ads and to other frequently asked questions.

One of the biggest questions I get is DO GOOGLE ADS REALLY WORK?
When set up and managed correctly, businesses can see strong return on investment from Google Ads, as indicated by the following stats:

Businesses make an average of $2 in revenue for every $1 they spend on Google Ads.

72% of Google Ads marketers plan to increase their PPC budgets. This is a strong indication that those businesses were generating positive ROI, because if they were not, then they wouldn’t increase their budgets.

70% of mobile searchers call a business directly from Google Search.

70% of mobile searches result in action being taken within an hour
