The bill that would bring safe Plug-In solar to California passed the Senate and Assembly with flying colors and now heads to the final obstacle: getting the Governor’s signature for the bill to become law.
Can you call Governor Newsom's office today to help get this bill over the finish line?
His office number is: (916) 445-2841. Here's a suggestion of what to say:
“My name is __. I live in ___. Please sign SB 868, the bill that would bring safe Plug-In solar to California. This is a simple way to make electricity more affordable for both renters and homeowners for all types of homes. Thank you.”
Here are more details and why this is urgent:
Consumers should have as many options as possible to safely catch sunlight on their property and use it to lower their energy bill.
SB 868 will let people use Plug-In solar safely without utility permission or fees, creating a new way for both renters and homeowners to use the power of the sun.
In order for SB 868 to become law, Governor Newsom must sign it by September 30th. But the bill is on his desk now, so he needs to hear from you right away.
