Giving Tuesday!

We have some wonderful news to share!
Northwestern Bank and AMR Electric have each pledged a $5,000 matching gift to Chippewa Humane Association, that’s $10,000 total in matching funds! ❤️🐾

As many of you know, our building is over 20 years old. With winter settling in, our aging front door and drafty windows have become a real challenge for the animals and the people caring for them. Replacing them will mean:
• Warmer, safer spaces for the pets who arrive scared and unsure
• Lower energy bills so more funding can go directly to animal care
• A more comfortable environment for staff, volunteers, and visitors

From Giving Tuesday through December 17th, every dollar you donate will be doubled.
This is an incredible chance to complete these much-needed upgrades before the new year.

If you’re able, please consider donating and helping us reach this goal for the animals who depend on us. Your gift truly makes twice the impact. ❤️🐾

Thank you for always supporting our shelter and the pets who need us most.

Today is the start of Wisconsin's 10-day muzzleloader-only deer season. Hunting during this season can be rewarding for those who don't want the nine-day gun-deer season to end. And, yes, blaze orange or fluorescent pink is required for all hunters during any gun-deer season – including the muzzleloader season.

What's a muzzleloader? Muzzleloaders are generally considered a primitive firearm when compared to the modern hunting rifle. However, thanks to the ever-changing world of technology, there are different types of muzzleloaders.

These include flintlock, percussion cap and in-line muzzleloaders. Each represents technology advances related to the ignition of the gunpowder charge needed to propel the projectile out of the gun. During Wisconsin's muzzleloader-only season, any of these types of muzzleloaders is allowed.

Newer models that use a sealed, weather-proof gunpowder charge that loads and unloads into the breech are also allowed, since the projectile must still be loaded through the muzzle.

If you buy one, expect to spend significant time learning how to use it, care for it and address muzzleloader-specific scenarios. As with all fi****ms, sight in the gun and know your effective range before hunting.
