If your marketing doesn't make sense, it won't make cents. šŸ’°

See what we did there? šŸ˜

When marketing isn't producing results, our first instinct is often to add MORE.

More social media.
More ads.
More emails.
More content.
More money.

But more marketing isn't always the answer.

Sometimes you need to stop and ask:

Does our message make sense?
Are we reaching the right people?
Do they understand why they should choose us?
Are all of our marketing efforts actually working together?
Do we even know what we're trying to accomplish?

Because you can spend a whole lot of cents on marketing that doesn't make sense.

Strategy before tactics. Every time.

Need help making sense/cents of your marketing? Send us a message, we'd love to help!

I had a great conversation this past week about platforms.

Looking out from the stage at the Gathering Place, it’s easy to think of a platform as something like this—a microphone, a stage, and rows of people listening.

But most of our platforms don’t look like this.

Your platform might be your workplace.
Your family.
Your church.
Your neighborhood.
Your social media feed.
The people who sit across the table from you every day.

We may not all get the opportunity to stand on a stage, but we all have a place where our voice carries.

The question is: What are we doing with it?

Are we encouraging? Adding value? Building people up? Sharing something worth hearing? Creating connection?

You don’t need a microphone or a room full of chairs to make an impact.

You already have a platform. Use it well. ā¤ļø

Your website shouldn’t feel like a brochure.

It should feel like a **great conversation.** šŸ’¬

Think about the best conversations you’ve had with a business. They didn’t start by telling you everything about themselves. They listened. They understood what you needed. They answered your questions. And they helped you figure out what to do next.

Your website should do the same thing.

If visitors have to dig through paragraphs of ā€œweā€ statements, hunt for answers, or figure out on their own whether you can help them… they probably won’t stick around.

A great website says:

šŸ‘‹ We see you.
šŸ’” We understand what you’re looking for.
šŸ¤ Here’s how we can help.
āž”ļø Here’s what to do next.

Because the goal isn’t just to give people information.

It’s to create a connection.

I’ve been thinking a LOT about this lately:

What if, before spending another dollar on marketing, you could figure out WHY your current marketing is—or isn’t—working?

Not another website just because someone says you need a website.

Not more social media because you’re ā€œsupposed to post.ā€

Not SEO, ads, radio, email, or whatever the newest marketing tactic happens to be.

Instead, you start with strategy.

You look at your business, your customers, your message, your current marketing and your goals—and figure out:

šŸ‘‰ What’s working?
šŸ‘‰ What isn’t?
šŸ‘‰ Where are the gaps?
šŸ‘‰ And what should you actually do next?

That’s something we’ve been building behind the scenes at StoryArk.

We’re calling it the Growth Blueprint.

And before we officially launch it, I’d love some feedback from business owners:

Would having something like this make you feel more confident about where you’re investing your marketing dollars?

Yes? No? Maybe?

Tell me why in the comments. Thank you!

Quick question for the business owners in our world. šŸ‘‹

When it comes to your marketing, which of these sounds MOST like you right now?

A. We’re doing a lot of marketing, but I’m not sure what’s actually working.

B. We’re getting some results, but not enough to feel confident in what we’re spending.

C. I know we need to market our business, but I honestly don’t know what we should be doing.

D. Our marketing is working pretty well — we know what’s driving results and where we should invest next.

Drop your letter in the comments. šŸ‘‡

No sales pitch. šŸ˜‚ We’re working on something behind the scenes at StoryArk, and I’m genuinely curious where most small businesses would put themselves.

Thank you! šŸ’™

Trust isn’t built with one great ad.

It’s built in the dozens of little moments a customer has with your business—before they ever pick up the phone, fill out a form, or make a purchase.

Your website. Your social media. Your reviews. The way you communicate. The promises you make—and whether the experience matches them.

When those pieces work together, trust grows.

When they don’t? Even great marketing can struggle to produce results.

In our latest blog, we’re breaking down The Four Pillars of Customer Trust—and how they can help you create marketing that doesn’t just get attention, but gives people a reason to choose you.

šŸ‘‡ Read it below.

Because people don’t just buy the best product or service.

They buy from businesses they trust. šŸ’™

Trust isn't built in a single conversation. It isn't earned with one great advertisement, a clever social media post, or even a beautifully designed website.Trust is built through a series of small moments that consistently answer one question:"Can I confidently choose this business?"Whether someone....

Most small businesses don't actually have a marketing problem.

They have a clarity problem.

We hear it all the time:
šŸ‘‰ "Our website isn't generating leads."
šŸ‘‰ "Social media isn't working."
šŸ‘‰ "We invested in SEO, but nothing changed."

Sometimes the problem isn't your website, your social media, or even your SEO.

Sometimes all of those tools are faithfully amplifying a message that simply isn't connecting with the people you're trying to reach.

Before you spend more money on marketing, make sure your message is clear enough to earn attention, build trust, and move people to action.

If you've ever wondered why your marketing isn't producing the results you expected, this blog is for you.

šŸ“– Read it here: https://www.storyarkdigital.com/post/why-most-small-businesses-don-t-actually-have-a-marketing-problem

When a business owner calls a marketing agency, the conversation usually starts the same way."We need more leads.""Nobody is finding us online.""Our social media isn't working.""We need a better website.""Can you help with SEO?"Those are all valid concerns. But after years of working with businesses...

One of the perks of working at StoryArk...

Creative pitches. šŸ˜„

This morning, a paper airplane landed in my office. Inside was this masterpiece:

"Can we get Starbucks?? Pretty please." šŸˆā˜•

I have to admit... that's a pretty compelling marketing campaign.

āœ”ļø Clear message
āœ”ļø Cute spokesperson
āœ”ļø Strong call to action

Needless to say... the campaign was approved. šŸ˜‚

One of the things I love most about our team is that we work hard, laugh often, and aren't afraid to launch the occasional paper-airplane proposal.

Sometimes the best ideas don't come from a boardroom... they come flying through your office door. āœˆļøšŸ’™
