Balancing travel for work and a young family isn’t always easy.

I’m not going to pretend traveling with my friends and having fun experiences is some grand sacrifice I’m making.

It’s honestly a blast.

The difficult part is making sure I’m not missing too much of these early years where my kids are experiencing everything for the first time.

I don’t want to miss the time where they still want me around all the time.

Eventually they’ll have their own lives.

Their own friends.

Maybe even their own businesses.

I guess the point is that I love my family and I love my work.

I don’t want to choose between building something I’m proud of and being there while my kids grow up.

So I’m trying to be intentional about both.

Take the trip. Build the business. Chase the big opportunities.

Then come home and get on the floor with the kids.

There will always be another meeting, another event, another opportunity.

There won’t always be a two-year-old waiting at the door for me to come home.

Here’s something you probably don’t expect a marketing agency to say:

Sometimes our services don’t work.

And sometimes clients leave because of it.

That’s part of this business.

We can get you leads.

We can get your phone ringing with people who want to buy a home.

We can put more people on your lot.

But there’s a point where our job ends and yours begins.

Buying a home is overwhelming for a lot of people.

If your sales team can’t develop trust, simplify the process, answer questions with confidence, and make someone feel like they’re going to be taken care of, it doesn’t matter how many people we send through the door.

You won’t grow.

Marketing can create the opportunity.

It can’t replace the skill required to turn that opportunity into a customer.

Your salespeople need to become trusted advisors.

They need to give buyers a reason to say:

“This is the person I want helping me buy my home.”

That’s why I’ve become such a fan of what César and the team at MH Sales Mastery are doing.

Their Professional Housing Consultant Certification is developing exactly these skills in manufactured housing sales professionals.

And frankly, if you’re investing thousands of dollars getting people onto your lot but not investing in the people responsible for helping them buy, I think you’ve got the equation backwards.

I’ll be speaking at their live event in Dallas December 1 through 3.

Be there.

We’ll help you get more opportunities.

Go develop the skills to turn more of them into sales.

One of my favorite pieces of advertising/marketing wisdom is that none of the things we do are original.

If you learn from Alex Hormozi and Russel Brunson, they learned it from Dan Kennedy and Frank Kern.

If you learned from Kennedy, he learned it from Ogilvy and the like.

In this book Ogilvy talks about how he learned from guys who invented the term horsepower.

So on and so forth all the way back.

If you’re a student of what’s worked in the past, you will be successful today.

"This month is busier than the last three months combined"

That's what one of our clients told us this week.

I absolutely love to hear it and I dropped everything to make this video showing the ads and system responsible for the uptick in business.

I want to be clear though.

This wouldn't be happening without their team:

1. Calling every lead that comes in.
2. Operating a business with honesty and integrity.
3. Knowing how to seal the deal when a qualified prospect shows up to their lot.

I put together a guide showing exactly how we set these campaigns up.

If you want it, comment "Me" and I'll shoot it over in DM's

I met so many incredible people at the MH Sales Mastery Live event!

I started off my presentation on our MH Sales Accelerator System with an intense single elimination rock, paper, scissors tournament and this young lady won a copy of my favorite marketing book!

Thanks again for having me out and I can’t wait to come to Texas for the next one!

Fun hat Thursday Featuring Benjamin.

What's the point if you can't have fun?

06/12/2026

A lot of things had to line up for me to be where I am today.

Trust placed in me by literal strangers.

Repeatedly stepping out of my comfort zone

My wife letting me quit my stable job to "find myself" and start a business.

I've been feeling incredibly grateful lately and wanted to mention another person that none of these things could have happened without.

Happy birthday Richie Beasley

If you hadn't been open to me poking my head into your office across the hall to introduce myself all those years ago, The Mobile Home Guys wouldn't exist.

Thank you for changing the course of my life, my family's lives, and the lives of the amazing our team that have built this business alongside us.

The impact you've had reaches much further than you probably realize.

I hope you have an amazing birthday.

January 2024. A record cold front was sweeping the country. It even snowed in Florida.

Benjamin and I, naturally, did not factor any of this into our planning when we packed up my white Ford Transit van and drove from Fort Myers to Louisville for the Manufactured Housing Expo.

We loaded the van with brochures, a folding table, a pop-up banner we'd designed at 2am the week before, and an unreasonable amount of optimism.

What we did not load it with was a single long sleeve shirt.

Between the two of us we had one functioning brain cell, and it decided we should stop at a Cracker Barrel a few hours into the trip and buy coats off the rack like a couple of tourists. (That's me in the flannel. Benjamin's a little blurry, but his coat's the dark blue one.)

Thank god for that brain cell, because it was snowing by the time we hit Georgia.

It was our first industry trade show and we had no idea what we were doing. We just knew we needed to be in the room.

Then we got sick as dogs halfway through. Shocking.

By the drive home, we'd burned through our entire budget. Couldn't afford NyQuil.

We barely had enough gas money to make it back to Florida.

I remember being in a Buc-ee's parking lot, curled up in the passenger seat of the van wondering if this whole thing was a terrible idea.

Good news, it was not a terrible idea.

Fast forward to today and we have:

70+ dealers and communities actively working with us. 7,000+ appointments booked by our AI since launch. 10,000+ leads generated every single month for our clients.

None of which we could see from that Buc-ee's parking lot.

The Manufactured Housing industry has been good to us. Better than we had any right to expect, frankly.

We don't take it lightly, and we aren't going anywhere.
