Oh and that very productive chat was done, in the fresh air, sipping a hazy, friday afternoon.

I get that a lot with a jaw dropping, irresistible, wtf, how can they do that, no brainer, id be stupid not to jump in offers.

Today I had an argument with a fellow shareholder over whether nouns on our product descriptions on our website should have initial capitals.

My view: industry best practice is they should. Nouns have capitals.

My shareholders view: Definately not. She felt strongly that somehow my approach was not in synch with our audience. It was her feeling.

We debated a few minutes. Her passion, over what some might think is a small issue, caused me to be open minded and seek to discover why she might think this way. Her views were coming from the eyes of our customers.

A penny dropped. Why not. Plus its different to the competition. We are a family run style business. It suits our branding. Lets be unique. I let go off my blind spot, the professional training. I went over to speaking in the customers voice.

The passion, the focus, the gut feeling, the desire to connect with the customer at a deeper level. That dear reader separates this team from the pack. Ive always seen this spark in both shareholders.

She inspired me today.

Always being open to listening, understanding customer needs (and the way they talk/think), then giving them what they need is one of the keys to success.

She was instinctively doing something that is a marker for a world class businesswoman.
