Just wrapped up our 6th annual father-and-son fishing trip, and it’s always one of the highlights of my summer. There’s something special about sharing a boat with the man who introduced me to the outdoors and especially to fishing.
Six years, six different bodies of water, all in pursuit of walleyes. Every trip has created memories I’ll never forget, but this year was on another level. Chase couldn’t have treated us any better. We got into an incredible number of quality fish, the weather was about as perfect as you could ask for, and the food was absolutely top-notch.
As much as I love catching fish, the best part has always been the time spent together. Those conversations, the laughs, and the memories made on the water are what make these trips so meaningful. I’m grateful we get to keep this tradition alive, and I don’t take a single one of these moments for granted.
Of course, success on the water isn’t just about finding fish. Long days, changing conditions, and unpredictable weather make having the right gear essential.
