**December - Early January Dev Update**

Project Changes:
The game's title has been updated following a script rewrite: Valheim: [REDACTED]. The full name will remain redacted until the official announcement.

Work in Progress:
- Fight System
- Stat System
- Party System (NPC Companions)
- Romanceable Paths w/ Companions

Challenges Faced:
After overcoming life struggles and dealing with a busy schedule, I encountered a writer's block. Unhappy with the existing content, I took a step back, reanalyzed the story's direction, and decided to rewrite the entire narrative and recode from the ground up. This unavoidable setback has caused a significant project delay. However, I prioritize delivering a release I'm proud of over meeting deadlines. Furthermore, I am much more confident in the direction of the story after taking steps back to the drawing board.

Team Updates:
I've been working solo, and the workload is overwhelming. Attempts to seek help from acquaintances didn't yield the desired support. Patience is appreciated as I tirelessly manage my evolving schedule and the project's needs.

Testing:
Considering a demo before the Alpha release, those interested can contact me. Feedback on the demo or Pre-Release builds is both welcomed and encouraged.

Upcoming Goals:
Starting a new job will limit my 24/7 availability for the project, but I plan to focus on the eagerly anticipated party system in the coming month.

Roadmap:
- Summer 2024 Demo
- Fall 2024 Alpha Release (timeline subject to change)
- Summer 2025 Full Release (timeline subject to change)

Conclusion:
Despite the delay, I am extremely pleased with the game's current direction and eagerly anticipate its public release.

New Render Update:
I finally got to the menu screen render, I'm slowly but surely removing my templates and adding the final visuals to certain scenes. Unfortunately I will be stopping with implementing the rest of the visuals for scene until I completely finish the rest of the code. I found that focusing on the writing and code before the visual assets has made it much easier for me to maintain.

November Progress Update:

Hello, everyone! We are a bit behind schedule for the Alpha release of Valoria Chronicles. Juggling the coding while maintaining fluidity is a task in itself, but adding the visual assets I've needed to create has made meeting the desired deadline a bit stretched. That being said, here's a rundown on what we have accomplished so far!

1) Prologue/ACT 1 Script is written.
2) Base Fight System has been coded, and implemented
3) Background Assets are around 78% completed for ACT 1
4) Choices have been implemented into the story with a stat system in the works (your stats will have direct correlation on whether you can make a choice, FUN!)
5) Character Assets are around 20% completed

I'm beyond excited for this game to be out in the open. However, I am making sure I take my time to work out any kinks that arise from this project so there is no current ETA on when the Alpha will be released but my hopes will be early 2024, as I am doing this alone for the time being! Alas, don't fret! With each update I will be sharing some completed renders with you, so that you are along for the whole process!
