Does this sounds like you? “That’s it I’m getting serious about my content this year! I’m going to be consistent with posting every week! I’m going to get new images done!”

And then all of a sudden it’s February and all those January 1st promises have been pushed aside!

We all do it, we vowed to get serious with our content planning and marketing strategy in 2020! It’s the year of “Perfect Vision”, right?! 🧐 Well, that’s what everyone is saying. Truth moment, when I realized “why” people was saying this, I had a “duh Jean 😂 20/20... I get it” lmao! Go ahead and laugh at me! I’m good with that! I was late to the party on this one but I know I cannot be the only one! 😏 I see you scared to admit it!

Anywho! Aside from my late understanding of I also made the same commitments as you. 😬

You have no excuses! Let my voice be your guide, unless you’re one of those I don’t hear voices in my head I only see words people! ( lol)

As I reflect on another year in business there are 3 things that I believe have kept me going these last 5 years as I’ve grown as a photographer.

1. Create really specific goals! Being vague about what you want will not serve you in the long run. Be clear and write them down.

2. Only share what you are doing with people that really want to see you Win! Some people mean well but they project their own fears on to you when you show them something out of their comfort zone!

3. Enjoy every moment. You can “ “ but it’s all in vain if you never stop and appreciate where you are and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

11.27.19 | This is 40

When I read this “Be loud about the things that are important to you.” I immediately said in my head.... “including you”.

Because sometimes when we think about what’s important and whose important we often forget to include ourselves in that equation.

Loving yourself before expecting others to love you is so important. Often we give give give and never expect love in return.

I was taught to always be and stay humble. Don’t get the big head. Let others shine. You don’t always have to be seen or heard. Just be good to others and good will come back to you.

But at what cost? When is it ok to allow yourself to be seen? When is it okay to say you need help and some attention? When is it ok to ask for a turn? When is it ok to say, “Yes, I am amazing!” and not be looked at side ways.

Well I’m not waiting another day to make space for myself or to let my voice be heard. I am making space for me, today. We have to find a better way to teach our kids that it’s ok to be humble, loving, helpful but it’s also ok to set boundaries, say no, and put themselves first.

! I see you. It’s our time. The next 40 years are a million miles long and I’m laced up and ready for the adventures the next 40+ will bring. Look how much I’ve accomplished walking through the world naive to what’s to come. Imagine what I will create with my eyes wide open and pure wisdom strapped to my back!

Morning! Sunshine and cool breezes the feelings of my favorite season. I am ready for a few days off. Just trying to make it to Wednesday!

I am ready to be selfish with my time and my space and the energy I give to people and things! I don’t celebrate holidays so these days off will just be days for me to focus on me!

When is the last time you were selfish with your time? Don’t spend your days off this week running around for everyone else. Save time to rest and renew your mind. You deserve it!

Happy Friday Evening! It’s been one heck of a day! Honestly, it’s been one heck of a week. I have so many things going on but I wanted to stop in and say hello to my new IG Friends and all those hanging with me over the years.

This year I have been doing a lot behind the scenes. Investing in myself and in my business has been a major factor in the opportunities that have landed in my lap.

Full transparency I am a worrier! I don’t like to let people down. In my worry’s i tend to doubt and hesitate but this year i refused to let myself continue in that pattern. So I made a few changes.

This year I have invested in masterminds with Aneris Photography , group coaching with Amber Crudup Branding Co., with BeFree Project , and brand photography with . I can honestly say had I not made the investments in my mental health via therapy I would not have given myself permission to believe in my dreams.

My birthday is in a few days and I will be the amazing 4-0 🙌🏾 I have so many plans for my life, my marriage, my children and my business that I can’t hardly contain myself! Be on the look out for more to come!

In the mean time I’m headed out to capture an event for a client but I want you to tell me, how will you invest in yourself going forward?

Life has an amazing way of reminding you that The Most High is always present, always working and always working things out for you! My brother and I had a conversation the other day about purpose and how the most important part of operating in your purpose is working on yourself. Because how can you truly share your gifts with the world if you aren’t willing to work on yourself. This year more than ever my main goal was to work on me! I’m loving the person I am and have forgiven myself for mistakes in my past. Learn to thank the former you for the life lessons. It’s important to remember to forgive yourself!

It’s time to connect! A few months ago my friend/business partner and I hosted a working meetup via our business . We met up with some amazing women in business. We talked about our upcoming projects, pains in our business and action items. It was a great experience!

08.11.19 | Putting Yourself Out There

Sometimes in life you have to take chances and put yourself out there and let what will be be! When I announced the headshot popup I wasn’t sure of the turn out. I’m not from Greenville originally and I don’t have the immediate local connections as others born and raised in this area. However I am grateful for the people that are in my life and who support my business and dreams. Today’s event is a way to use my business to give back to the community and introduce myself to people that may not know me. Whether 10 people or zero people showed up I decided to accept it and put fear aside and go for it! It’s a beautiful day in and I’m still on location this Sunday (8/11) to capture your headshot and give you a chance to donate school supplies to this amazing community! Come leave a donation, get a headshot or simply say hi! 💚

HEADSHOT POPUP & School Supply Drive

Hey, Greenville family & surrounding friends. I am doing an all-day headshot pop-up event on August 11th at Textile Hall in Greenville.

I would love for you to come out and support not me but the youth in our community.

This popup event is SUPER special because not only are you getting a great deal on headshots by yours truly but you have an opportunity to give back to the community at the same time.

Even if you aren't in need of a new headshot I will have a donation bin where you can drop off supplies all day.

Headshots are $100 but if you bring in a backpack on the day of the shoot you will only pay $75. All full-price sessions will have a portion of the proceeds donated to purchase supplies.

All supplies we collect will be donated to the Greenville Back-2-School Bash hosted by 6ix-O’s Clothing Co., Sassy Snow Cones and many more!

Let's show our youth that we support them and want them to have an amazing school year.
