Memorial Day has always carried a deeper meaning for me.

As an Army veteran, I understand that this day is not about celebration, sales, or simply the start of summer. It is a day set aside to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice is the reason we are able to live, work, build, and gather in freedom. It is a debt we can never fully repay, but one we can honor by pausing, remembering, and carrying their legacy with gratitude.

Today, I’m thinking of the fallen heroes, their families, and the brothers and sisters in uniform who never made it home.
May we never forget what Memorial Day truly means.
