Dear Colorado Sun,
I fixed the quote slide you made. Maybe transphobe is a bit too biased but “activist” is obviously a mistake, given the current climate and anti-trans rhetoric and falsehoods this woman’s spews.

Aside from giving her a platform in the first place and then turning off comments on your instagram post…. Part of the article is BS hearsay and untrue. EL posts my email screenshots all of the time, but leaves out the one from the very next day, when I clearly told her what was discussed. I have attached both in this post since you don’t seem to have all of the facts and are just reporting on what she’s told you.

The truth is the evening after my outreach visit to Wellington middle school, her kiddo didn’t “tell their mom what happened”, THEY CAME OUT to their mom. There’s a difference.
The claim of what was discussed, is a list things we didn’t discuss, those are all things she found later on our SPLASH Youth social media and website to embellish her story. At our center, we hold space for peer-lead discussions on the topics she mentioned, but only including youth who have intentionally registered with our org.

“At a club meeting, Lee’s daughter heard a guest speaker talk about puberty blockers, gender transitioning, the definition of polyamory and how to contact a gender-affirming therapist, all without her parents’ knowledge, Lee said.”

Lastly on this post, I have included the facts on how props 134 and 135 will impact our community- in case you’d like to edit your own caption on her story.

The two flags could not be further from each other.

At last night's League of Women Voters Erie candidate forum, candidate Andrew Sawusch compared displaying a Pride flag with displaying a N**i or white supremacist flag while discussing government neutrality.

Erie resident Kim Salvaggio responded with a letter explaining why she believes equating those symbols creates a dangerous false equivalence and asking a larger question of someone seeking public office. She states: “If you want to represent an entire town, you have an obligation to understand the people who live in it.”

Ancestors are about more than our DNA relations – they are also about our Chosen Family, those who inspire us, those fore-parents and activists who led the way for our q***r selves to shine today.

* Gently pull on the threads of our (potentially complex) relationship to ancestry
* Practice a triple soul alignment as a way of feeling into Ancestors of Blood, Ancestors of Land, and Ancestors of Craft
* Honor the Q***r Ancestors through shared altar making, singing, and movement (all a gentle invitation to move and sing as much or as little as you like)
* Meditate with Q***r Ancestors and Q***r Descendents (those yet to come) to listen to the messages they have for us
