It's all about location, location, location, as they say. Falconer's sole proprietor, Brendan Bombaci, is the professional you need. This video was taken on city annexation property / CDOT right-of-way easement adjacent to Riverbend Ponds Natural Area. The Natural Area itself is off limits for flights below 500 feet, which of course excludes drones (which the FAA mandates can only fly as high as 400 feet). Fort Collins Natural Areas, Larimer County Open Spaces, and Colorado State Parks are on the very to extremely wonderful end of the scenery spectrum (amongst other spectrums). Here we have Reservoir Ridge Natural Area (up close), Horsetooth Reservoir (a Larimer County property), Lory State Park (mountain chain and valley), the town of Bellvue (below and around), and Fort Collins itself (on the plains). I love it here.

Flight windows can be pretty minimal in the winter months. It takes a lot of planning and hawkeye attention to temperature and dewpoint (ice can form on the drone if these match up), humidity (moisture can accumulate on the electronics), and wind speeds to be sure that a mission is not just successful but safe and reasonable. To top that, flight accuracy and geolocation in media is highly dependent upon satellites in range, which is dependent on a few different factors (hence the orange instead of green hourly warnings even during above-freezing windows). Falconer knows what's "up" and always flies smart.
