A lot of businesses think social media “just isn’t working” for them… but most of the time, they’re missing a few basic things that make a HUGE difference.

Social media is not just about posting a pretty picture anymore.

Platforms are paying attention to:
-Location tags
-SEO keywords
-Engagement

And now with AI pulling information from captions and posts too, your content has to be working harder for you.

One of the easiest things you can do after posting?
Start conversations.

Ask questions.
Use polls on Stories.
Send the post to a few people and ask them to interact with it.

The faster your post gets engagement, the better chance it has of being pushed out.

I didn’t plan to start a company.

I lost a six figure salary job and suddenly had no idea what was next. I applied to over 100 jobs, hoping something would stick. Two interviews. No real leads. A LOT of self doubt and tears.

I remember thinking… now what? How am I going to make money and enjoy doing it? How can I make sure I never have to worry about someone having that kind of power over me again?

So I stopped waiting for someone to pick me and decided to bet on myself instead.

I took the skills I already had and started creating content, thinking it would just be a small side hustle doing bridal work. Nothing big, just something to get by while I figured things out.

Then I got a landscaping client.

Then another client.

Then another industry I had never worked in before.

And somewhere along the way, Social Icons stopped being a “temporary fix” and turned into a real business… a full social media marketing agency.

I’ve learned more than I ever thought I could, worked across multiple industries, pushed myself outside my comfort zone, and even started growing a team. But the best part is this:

I get to help small businesses show up online with confidence, create content that feels authentic, and grow in a way that actually feels fun again.

If you’re in a season where everything feels uncertain, where you’re starting over or figuring it out as you go… this is your sign that something beautiful can come from the unknown.

Sometimes the plan falling apart is exactly what makes room for something better.

First full year in business complete! What did I do this year? I made ALOT of content for myself and my clients! I have learned and grown so much this first year and can’t wait to see how far I can take this in 2026! Thank you so much to all of my clients who have trusted and supported me this year, making it all possible to keep going.
We’re starting the new year with two new clients and looking to take on more. Social Icons has now had experience in: Bridal, Landscaping, Functional Medicine Dr./Clinic, Custom Home Builder, Hydroseeding, Esthetician, Restaurants, Nail Salon, Car Lot, Networking Events, and even teaching a business how to do their own social media.
