💭 A recent Rotary program at the Fostoria Rotary Club started me thinking more about AI, ChatGPT, and how work has evolved (and is still evolving).
One topic that stood out? The “Top 10 Jobs Most Likely to Be Affected by AI in the Next 5–10 Years.” And while some folks may feel uneasy about that, it got me reflecting on how long I’ve been dancing with data, and how those skills are more relevant than ever.
📦 Rewind ten years: I was deep-diving into back-end data from social media platforms, job boards, and user activity logs, trying to understand where job seekers were, when they were active, and how to meet them where they digitally lived. I started with OTR truck drivers (still have a soft spot for that crowd!) and expanded into finance, healthcare, and sales.
Using geofencing, behavioral targeting, and market trends, I helped organizations serve job ads to passive candidates at just the right time and drive active ones toward recruiters. With the help of a small offshore team (lovingly known as “Kathy and her team in India”), we translated this data into clear reports and monthly insights for stakeholders.
💰 The result? Clients were regularly saving $40K - $80K in the first month on recruiting ads, while also improving their employer brand and candidate experience. Those early efforts laid the foundation for my current work helping nonprofits and small businesses do more with less.
✨ Today, AI has reinvigorated that same love of data-driven decision making. My background lets me “talk” to tools like ChatGPT in a way that extracts meaningful insights quickly, making it easier for businesses to understand their big data, sharpen their brand presence, and reallocate dollars to what matters most, like their people.
Sure, most people know me as “The RecruiterKat,” and it was my roots in recruiting that really lit the fire for process improvement. And now, with the help of AI, I’m just getting started.
