Your nonprofit may already have access to a powerful fundraising and awareness tool: the Google Ad Grant.

Eligible nonprofits can receive up to $10,000 per month in in-kind Google Search advertising: helping more people discover your programs, services, resources, events, and opportunities to give.

The opportunity is significant. But simply having the grant isn’t enough.

To turn searches into impact, your organization needs:

✅ A clear strategy
✅ Mission-focused campaigns
✅ Strong, relevant landing pages
✅ Ongoing optimization and management

Many nonprofits leave this resource on the table because they don’t have the time or expertise to manage it effectively. Do Good Marketing helps nonprofits strategize and manage the Google Ad Grant so they can reach people actively searching for the support, services, and causes they provide.

Your mission is already making a difference. Let’s help more people find it.

A first gift is an introduction: not the whole relationship.

Yet first-time donor retention is under 25%. That means most new donors never get the chance to become long-term supporters.

Meanwhile, major donor retention tops 70%.

The lesson is clear: stewardship isn’t a nice-to-have. It’s the growth play.

• Thank donors promptly and personally.
• Show the impact of their support.
• Create meaningful touchpoints between campaigns.
• Make it easy for supporters to stay connected.
• Build donor journeys that grow with the relationship.

When donors feel valued and informed, they’re more likely to give again: and give more generously. In fact, the median gift among retained donors is up 20%.

Think of it like a garden: acquiring new donors plants the seeds, but consistent stewardship is what helps relationships take root and grow.

At Do Good Marketing, we help nonprofits create donor journeys, engagement strategies, and digital fundraising experiences that turn first-time supporters into lasting partners. Visit www.dogoodmarketing4nonprofits.com to learn more.

65.4% of new donors come from digital channels.

But is your nonprofit’s budget following the donors?

The way people discover and support nonprofits has changed. Your channel mix should change with it.

That doesn’t mean abandoning every offline strategy. It means taking a clear-eyed look at where new supporters are finding your mission: and investing accordingly.

✓ Meet donors where they are
✓ Strengthen your digital discovery strategy
✓ Make giving easy across every device
✓ Track which channels drive action

Digital fundraising works best when it’s strategic, accessible, and connected to the full donor experience.

At Do Good Marketing, we help nonprofits align their marketing investments with donor behavior so they can reach more people, build stronger relationships, and raise more for their missions.

When was the last time your organization reviewed its channel mix? Is your budget keeping pace with where new donors are showing up?

Why I Ride. 💙

This will be my 17th year riding to support The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. I started to ride to raise funds to find a cure when my dad, John Haviland, was diagnosed. My dad fought valiantly, but ultimately passed 10 years ago on August 15, 2016. I miss him every day.

While my dad has passed, the fight to find a cure continues.

I ride for the many wonderful people and families I have met whose lives have been changed by Parkinson’s. I ride because I believe that research gives us hope—and that every mile ridden and every dollar raised can help bring us closer to better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

This year will be a little different for me. I won’t be able to ride with everyone in person, but I’ll still put in the miles and participate remotely. The location may be different, but the reason I ride is exactly the same.

I’ve created a personal fundraising page, and I’d be grateful for your support.

Please consider making a donation—no amount is too small. Every gift moves us another step (and another mile!) closer to a world without Parkinson’s.

👉 Support my ride:

And if you’re not able to donate, sharing this post would mean a great deal to me.

I’ll do the pedaling. You can help provide the fuel. 🚴💙

Thank you for being part of the ride.

If you have someone you'd like me to ride for, place it in the comments.

Donors are willing to start small: but only if giving feels seamless.

Fundraise Up’s 2026 data shows that 53%+ of donations now come from mobile. Donors coming from social are also nearly twice as likely to become recurring donors.

But friction kills donor intent fast:

• Long forms
• Slow-loading pages
• Limited payment options
• Too many taps to complete a gift

A simple, accessible giving experience helps supporters act in the moment: whether they’re making a $10 gift, becoming a recurring donor, or sharing your campaign with their network.

Take two minutes today to test your donation experience on a phone. How many taps does it take? How quickly does the page load? Can a donor give using their preferred payment method?

Every tap is an opportunity to build trust and grow impact.

Do Good Marketing helps nonprofits create frictionless digital fundraising experiences that make it easier for supporters to say, “I want to help.” Send us a message to start improving yours.

Gen Z won’t wait for your donation form to load.

They’re affinity-first, mobile-first, and quick to move on when giving feels complicated. If your donation experience creates friction, even a highly motivated supporter may abandon it.

Meet donors where they are:
✅ Mobile-first donation pages
✅ Apple Pay and Google Wallet
✅ Fewer clicks from “I want to help” to “Donation complete”
✅ Fast load times on every device

Mobile giving now accounts for 53%+ of donations. Your donation page isn’t a side door to fundraising: it may be the front door.

At Do Good Marketing, we help nonprofits create simple, accessible digital fundraising experiences that inspire action.

Take a minute to test your donation form on your phone. How many taps does it take? How long does it take to load?

If the answer isn’t “fast and easy,” it may be time for a digital fundraising tune-up. Message us to strengthen your giving experience.

Before you ask donors for a transformational gift, ask yourself one question:

Have we asked the right questions first?

Too many nonprofits launch capital campaigns based on assumptions rather than insights. A well-designed capital campaign survey can help you:

✅ Validate whether your community is ready for a campaign
✅ Identify the projects that matter most to your supporters
✅ Discover what motivates donors to give
✅ Uncover future campaign leaders and major gift prospects
✅ Address concerns before they become obstacles

The most successful campaigns don't start with a fundraising goal—they start by listening.

I've put together a practical guide outlining the 10 essential questions every nonprofit should answer when creating a capital campaign survey.
Whether you're planning your first campaign or preparing for your next transformational initiative, this resource will help you gather the insights needed to build a stronger campaign from day one.

Have you used a survey or feasibility study before launching a capital campaign? I'd love to hear what worked—and what you learned—in the comments.

Most nonprofits don’t have a fundraising problem.
They have a marketing clarity problem.

We’ve worked with organizations that had:
• Great missions
• Passionate teams
• Loyal supporters
…but still struggled to grow.

Why?

Because their messaging wasn’t clear, consistent, or compelling.
• Clarity drives donations.
• Clarity drives engagement.
• Clarity drives growth.

If you want a quick audit of your messaging, comment “AUDIT” or send me a message.
