The Attribution Model Breakdown

As you convert viewers into consumers, it is important to assign credit for each sale/conversion to understand what works best for your business. This is where the Attribution Model comes into play, utilizing 3 different types:

*For these examples, I assume your business uses both social media ads and email marketing*

1. First-Click Attribution: this gives 100% of the credit to the very first touch that introduced the customer to your brand. A good example of this would be a customer that sees your social media ad and immediately buys something based on your ad. All the credit goes to the social ad.

2. Last-Click Attribution: this gives 100% of the credit to the last touchpoint before conversion. For example, if you put out a social media ad first followed by an email ad, you would credit the email ad (given the customer sees both but buys after opening the email).

3. Multi-Touch Attribution: exactly as it may seem, this model gives credit to multiple touchpoints within your customer's journey as opposed to one single point. In this example, both the social ads and the email ads receive credit.

Be Careful - Common Lies Told by SEO Agencies

It is safe to say that SEO marketing is one of the most effective tools in building your brand while increasing recognition for every business, no matter what the industry. Though it may feel more comfortable to pay a "big name" agency for your SEO marketing campaign, there are a plethora of case studies where businesses were scammed into buying their service through deceptive "promises" such as:

1. "Choose us and we guarantee your business a #1 ranking on Google." - This is a lie. For starters, there are no "guarantees" when it comes to rankings, especially with an extremely competitive browser like Google. Even Google themselves warns businesses that nobody is guaranteed top rankings since their algorithms are constantly updating while everyone else competes for the "top spot."

2. "Go with our company for your next SEO campaign to achieve instant/overnight results." - This is a lie. SEO marketing is a process that generally takes 4-6 months or more to see significant results. Though it may have a small impact within your first few weeks to a month, it is simply not possible to establish an SEO marketing campaign and immediately see results overnight, let alone "instantly."

3. "We have the secret formula with insider access to browser algorithms." - This is a lie. It is safe to say that plenty of marketers understand algorithm trends, but to claim they have a "secret formula" with "insider access?" NO! Google does NOT grant anyone insider access to their algorithms nor does anyone have "insiders" at Google who can boost their rankings. In fact, Google makes it very clear that they keep their algorithms confidential, let alone the fact that they update their algorithms regularly.

I could go on-and-on about the various false promises fed to businesses by many different marketing agencies. But to put it simply, if you see ads with any of those 3 selling points, it is in your best interest to stop looking into that agency and do what is best for your business.

I just wanted to take a moment to sincerely apologize for being absent for a few days, but happy to be back!

At the end of the day, every business needs a good logo. Whether it's online, in person, in a magazine, etc. - one of the first things your protentional buyers will see is your business logo. Based on the types of services or products you offer, that logo can either catch people's attention immediately OR turn them away. (Repost) My "Why" - Support Local Businesses!

(In case you missed it yesterday) I started this company a few months ago because:

1. I recovered a family-owned resort that had little-to-no-budget for advertising and saved them from bankruptcy while lifting their profits to the highest they have ever seen in their business' history. The best part is that I "simply" achieved this through enhancing their digital marketing profile alongside a multitude of acquisition strategies. Now, I would love to continue helping other local/family-owned businesses achieve the same goal, so I don't have to see more great businesses close for good around here!

2. When walking into some of the amazing local businesses here in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, I ask myself, "how could I help this business increase foot traffic?" There is a lot of competition around here due to saturated markets, but local/family-owned businesses deserve to have more customers!

3. It is too often I notice a corporate-owned business/restaurant nearby a local/family-owned business/restaurant, yet so many people choose corporate-owned due to familiarity, comfortability, and/or pricing...when the truth is that we should all be supporting local businesses!

4. I notice common mistakes in businesses' marketing and acquisition strategies. You can spend all the money in the world on advertising, but that is NOT always the solution. There is a plethora of marketing and acquisition strategies that could save you serious money on ad spending while driving more traffic to your business.

I started this company a few months ago because:

One of the best ways to maintain consumer engagement is through ads, whether free or paid. Given the increasing popularity and use of social media, that should be your main focus.

Regardless of where you put out ads, I have an important tip for you: always be sure to use outcome-driven headlines focused on what's in it for your consumers followed by a call-to-action (CTA). The goal is to subtly push for consumer urgency and engaging responses as opposed to your own personal benefits. At the end of the day, most people do NOT want to be sold to, so present your ads in a way that will always put your consumers' interests first!
