My First Donut 🍩

When I was 16, I was an exchange student at Waltrip High School in Houston.
It was the most amazing and life-changing year.

I had this English class I still remember how I aced it.
There was a girl in that class who later became my best friend 🩵
Can’t believe we sat in the same room all year… and only became friends at the very end 💔🥹.

I remember how we’d meet up in the mornings, grab donuts at Shipley’s across the street with some orange juice, and show up late to first period 😂.

Those were some of my sweetest and warmest memories the ones that made my exchange year truly unforgettable.

My only regret? That we didn’t become friends sooner.

And now, 16 years later, whenever I go out for donuts with my husband or just on my own, I always think of those early mornings in high school and of the kindest, warmest person I met that year: Emy 🩵

P.S. this song was so popular that year cuz the Drama club had performance with it.

There’s a word in English I can’t stop thinking about: commitment.
We don’t really have a word like that in my language, not one that feels this powerful.

Commitment isn’t about motivation.
It’s a decision. A promise to yourself.
No matter what.

So here’s mine:
Starting Monday, I’m working with a personal trainer.
And I’m putting it out here by this time next year, I’ll have my dream body. Strong. Confident. And earned. 💪
