Boosted posts feel like the right move.

More reach, more visibility, more people seeing your mission.

But here's what we know after running real ad campaigns for ministries and nonprofits: boosting and running strategic ads are not the same thing. Not even close.

Boosting sends your content to more people. A real ad campaign sends it to the right people.

Precision doesn't come from hitting boost. It comes from building a campaign around exactly who you're trying to reach, what they need to hear, and where they already are.

Every time we've moved a client from boosted posts to a real strategic ad campaign, the results change.

All because we stopped broadcasting and started targeting.

If your post is reaching the wrong people, has a message that's too broad, and no strategy behind it, boosting doesn't fix any of that. It just puts more money behind a post that wasn't working to begin with.

Boosting posts is not a strategy. It's just a louder version of the same problem.

Most people think ads fail because of budget.

Or the design. Or the algorithm.

But honestly? Most ads fail because nobody stopped to figure out who they were actually talking to.

We ran a campaign for To Every Tribe, a missions org trying to reach young people sitting with a thought they couldn't shake: "maybe I'm supposed to go."

We didn't write to "young Christians." We wrote to that one person. And we named exactly what they were already feeling before they even knew how to say it.

Everything changed after that. The copy. The images. The results.

When you speak to one specific person, they don't scroll past.

They stop. They feel seen. They act.

When I started Sonder, it came from something pretty simple:

People matter.
Not as metrics.

Not as numbers on a screen.

But as real people with real stories, real struggles, and real things they’re carrying.

I think it’s easy to forget that.
Especially in marketing, where everything gets reduced to clicks, views, and engagement.

But on the other side of all of that is a person.

And if we’re going to speak to people, we should actually see them.

Your to-do list probably looks something like this: more posts, more content, more strategy.

We know you care about people, you want to reach them well.

But what happens when you’re doing all of that… and people still aren’t responding?

It’s easy to assume the answer is to do more.

But more isn’t always the answer.

Sometimes the real gap is this:
people don’t feel seen.

They don’t feel understood.
They don’t feel considered.

And when that’s missing, you miss them completely.

Because people don’t respond to content.
They respond to connection.

Launching a new church is never easy.

Now imagine doing it in one of the fastest-growing areas in the country, surrounded by noise, distraction, and people who aren’t sure what they believe anymore.

That’s where Reach Fellowship started.

The challenge wasn’t just getting the word out.
It was helping people feel seen and understood.

So instead of leading with “Join us this Sunday,” the message met people where they were:

“What if church felt different?”
“Not sure where to begin with God?”
“We’ll save you a seat.”

And it worked.

Over 300 people showed up at the launch.
Just five months later, they were reaching 700+ each weekend.

Not because the marketing was louder.
But because the message was clearer.

Often, we assume people aren’t responding because they’re not interested.

But more often than not, it’s because they’re confused.

If your message isn’t clear, people won’t respond to it.
Not because they don’t care, but because they don’t understand it.

And when that happens, you don’t just lose engagement.
You miss the person on the other side of it.

Every view, every click, every scroll is a real person with a story.

Clarity isn’t just a marketing tactic.
It’s how you actually connect with people.

You’re not stuck because your mission isn’t strong.

In fact, most of the ministries we talk to are doing a lot.

They’re posting consistently.
They’re putting time and effort into their content.
They care deeply about their message.

But something still feels off.

The engagement isn’t there.
The response isn’t what they hoped for.

And usually, it comes down to one thing:

Clarity.

If people don’t quickly understand what you’re saying, they won’t respond to it.

It’s not about doing more.
It’s about saying it clearly.

Christmas reminds us that God did not stay distant.
He came near.

In the middle of ordinary life, fear, uncertainty, and waiting, God chose presence over power and humility over spectacle.

God with us.

Praying peace, rest, and deep joy for you and your family today.
Merry Christmas.

2025 was a year of sharpening.

Walking alongside churches, nonprofits, schools, camps, and mission-driven organizations reminded me of something simple and grounding. Teams don’t need louder marketing or more self-promotion. They need centered thinking, steadier strategy, and communication that actually loves the people they are called to serve.

This year was about helping organizations find alignment.
Messaging that makes sense.
Funnels that feel human.
Systems that support the mission instead of getting in the way.

It was also a year of building behind the scenes. Refreshing the Sonder brand. Rebuilding the website. Resetting how we show up publicly (at least trying to a little bit more). We forged new partnerships and slowed down enough to get simpler, more focused, and more honest about the work we’re called to do.

We are deeply grateful for the executives, pastors, leaders, teams, and partners who trusted us this year. Your work matters, and it’s a privilege to support it.

Looking ahead to 2026 with clarity, curiosity, and a lot of hope.

If you’re planning for the year ahead and want a thoughtful strategic marketing partner, We'd love to partner on mission and help you reach more people.
