You don’t need a complicated strategy to start seeing results from your blog.

Most business owners just need help figuring out what to write—and making sure it’s actually worth the time to write it.

That’s what the Instant Blog Planner™ is for. 💡

It walks you through the key decisions step-by-step so you’re not guessing what to post or when.

A clear, doable plan for content that supports your services and gets in front of the right people.

How? Because it uses YOUR DATA!

Skeptical or not sure if it could help you? DM me and I’ll tell you straight.

“You can do like an hour of work and then the other 23 you can live your life.”

Mic drop courtesy of my 4th-grade great-niece, Audrey Clare. 🎤

I’d just mumbled something about working a lot, and she hit me with that wisdom – so simple, so true, untouched by the ‘hustle culture’ we somehow absorbed.

She calls it “23/7.” And it made me stop and think.

It’s easy to forget why we started our businesses. Moments like these remind me exactly why I’m obsessed with simplifying website marketing for fellow small business owners.

It’s not really about tweaking SEO or optimizing landing pages (though we do that!). It’s about building a business that doesn’t steal those precious 23 hours. It’s about getting your marketing to work consistently, handing back time, energy, and mental peace.

Your business should fuel your life, not drain it.

Where does your business feel like it’s demanding more than its fair share of hours right now?

How do you know if something is just a shiny object and distraction or an idea worth pursuing?

My friend and fellow podcaster, host of Content with Character, Emily Aborn, explores the question with myself, her best friend, Lindsay Dreyer, and her husband, Jason Aborn.

In this unique episode, her 100th(ish) in fact, you’ll hear about decision outsourcing, when is a good time to make good decisions, the BENEFITS of shiny object syndrome and how to surrender the outcome.

I was honored to be included in this conversation. It’s a fun listen. DM for a direct link or search for Emily’s podcast in your favorite podcast player.

As much as I love SEO,
it’s not for everyone.

Some businesses it
just doesn’t make
sense for.

I wouldn’t
recommend it
for a nail salon
because of the
nature of their
services; quick
decision service.

Most people don’t spend days or months deciding they want to get their nails done or where to go.

So I’d like to share some things to consider when you’re deciding whether or not SEO is for you.

5 Straightforward Ideas to Make Your Content Different from AI Copy Generators and Even Competitors

1. Add emotion through personal stories.
If there’s one thing AI can’t replicate, it’s your personal experience. So, one of the best ways to bring a human touch to your website is through storytelling.

2. Use your own photos.
Branding Photos: These are my top recommendation. A branding photographer can capture high-quality, professional images that are distinctly yours. These photos tell a story about who you are and what your business represents.

Mobile Phone Photos: While not as polished, using photos you’ve taken on your phone can still work, depending on the context. These can be particularly effective for more candid or behind-the-scenes content.

3. Avoid overused AI language.
Here’s a sneaky but effective tip: steer clear of phrases and terms commonly used by AI-generated copy. Certain words and phrases tend to show up again and again in AI-written content, so by being intentional with your word choices, you can differentiate yourself.

This tip comes from Kindey over at , and while I can’t remember the exact episode (seriously, go check out her podcast for all the good stuff), the advice sticks. Be mindful of your language and make it as personal, specific, and “you” as possible.

4. Talk about what others in your industry aren’t.
Take a step back and look at what’s being said in your industry. Now, ask yourself: What’s missing?

5. Use quotes.
In Episode 5 of the podcast, I had copywriter on to talk about this exact strategy. Quoting real people and using real data adds weight to your content and gives it credibility that AI simply can’t match.

If you’re not sure where to start or how to make your content stand out, I can help!

With my personalized marketing insights assessment, I’ll review your website and messaging, pinpoint what’s missing, and give you actionable steps to humanize your content.

Ever wonder what your competitors are ranking for on Google?

If you’re just guessing at keywords, you’re leaving traffic on the table.

Pro tip—it’s not just about the obvious ones your competitors are using. It’s also about the hidden opportunities they haven’t tapped into yet.

In this week’s episode of the Small Business Sweet Spot, I’m share with you simple ways to find out which keywords are driving traffic to your competitors’ sites and, more importantly, how to use that info to boost your own rankings.

From manual Google searches to using tools like Keywords Everywhere and Screaming Frog, I’ll break it down step-by-step. Oh, and I’ve even thrown in a fun trick using word clouds. 🎉

The takeaway? Knowing what keywords your competitors are targeting helps you choose the right ones for your own site—and that keeps you competitive. 🏆

Tune in, take notes, and find that next keyword that can help you thrive online.

Which of these are you most struggling with:

[1] SEO is too complicated or technical for me.

[2] You’ve launched your website but no traffic is coming.

[3] I don’t have time to create content or learn SEO.

[4] I tried SEO companies in the past but I didn’t see any leads.

[5] I type in my service to Google but I don’t see my website.
