We were just made aware that the license order forms that were mailed out from the Auditor’s Office have a typo on them!

Licenses are $20 per dog!The order form says $40 per dog. This is incorrect!

License season is December 1st-February 28th. Each dog in the state of Ohio is required to have a dog license (and rabies vaccine).Dogs are considered property and this is your legal proof of ownership.

The Mahoning County Dog Warden does not receive the community’s tax dollars. We are self funded through license sales and penalties.

Gunther came in September 16th as a stray. He was missing most of his fur, was very thin and was very anemic. 💔

He was in and out of the vets for exams and treatment. His anemia would improve and then he would decline again.

It was discovered that in addition to intestinal parasites he had a parasite in his blood. It is called Babesiosis and is contracted by a tick bite. Research and a combined effort with another local vet…..he was soon on malaria medication to treat it.

After many weeks of vet care Gunther came back to us so that he could find himself a forever home. He is still waiting.

Gunther is loving, silly and super social. He makes the silliest sounds when he wants to get our attention too.

This little man has been to hell and back and has not once had a bad day. He is pure love and life!

Gunther is a couple years old and may be a pittie mix. He is dog friendly. Cats unknown. Respectful kids.

We don’t know if his fur will grow back. For now he is in his Christmas sweater. He was clearly neglected and most likely mistreated yet all he knows is love.

Please share him. He is truly one of a kind!!!

Intern Charlie got us with the paw action.

As a company with 5 feline teammates, cat holidays are no joke. We celebrated today with salmon nibbles and catnip shots in the break room. Needless to say, little work was accomplished. But we did solve the mystery of life.
